Etymology 2
From grc grk-pro *-tās (whence also Mycenaean Greek gmy 𐀑𐀴𐀲 ktitā(s)), probably a masculine formation from grc ine-pro *-teh₂ (perhaps still seen in Latin la Monēta), feminine of ine-pro *-tós. Originally used in adjectival compounds, the suffix's narrowing to agentivity may be by analogy to grc -τήρ and grc -τωρ.
