German
Etymology
Duden posits an outright borrowing from de it rivoluzionario in the 19th century, Pfeifer says it was a pejorative modification of de Revolutionär with influence by the Italian term, while Kluge does not specify. In either case, the final syllables have been clipped in the process.

Da muss Du Dir die Frage, ob Du ihn für so'ne Art Revoluzzer hältst, wohl gefallen lassen. On the other hand, as a beginner, those are some pretty strong opinions you're bringing to the table, both about the Buddha's motives for his teachings, as well as regarding their veracity and relationship to the Vedas. So it's fair if people are wondering if you think he's some kind of revolutionary or something.
