borste børste
German
Etymology
de gem-pro
From de gmh borste, from de goh borsta, goh bursta, from de gmw-pro *borstā, *burstā, an early stem variant of gmw-pro *bursti, whence de Bürste brush, which compare. Both words originally meant “bristle”, the semantic distinction is a later development. Immediately cognate with osx bursta (also osx *borsta as evidenced by Westphalian nds Boarste, Buoste).
