Usage notes
This suffix can only be negated when used with kk еді particle. Otherwise kk -й is used:
kk Ешкім келмеп еді No one has come
kk Ол тоқтамай сөйледі He talked without stopping
Etymology 2
From kk -іп (see etymology 1) + kk тұр, where the second element got gradually omitted. Cognate with ky -иптир, tk -ipdir, alt -ип, ug -ип, uz -ib.
