Swedish
Etymology
sv gmq-osw Agundaryd. Of sv 1 origin, as there was no village with this name prior the church. The naming order is therefore assumed to be lake → farm → church → village:
Assumed to ultimately be sv gmq-osw *Agunde 1, which was the nearby lake, a gmq-osw agg *unde backwards lake 1, aproximatetly meaning the recalcitrant lake.
Then from the farm of sv ryd Ryd forest clearing, which was further specified with the name of the local lake; analogous to Agunderyd.
Then the newly built parish church, standing alone in the countryside, was named after the nearby farm.
Then finally given to the village that grew around the church.
