Etymology
rmg no Hamarbyen the city of Hamar, with Hamar being re-interpreted as Norwegian nn hamar hammer.
First part is from unattested rmg *dankrus hammer, compare Rodi nn dankus hammer, of Rotwelsch origin. Compare also rmg dannak axe, hammer and rmg danka axe. Second part is rmg fåro city. 1993, by Ludvig Karlsen, but may have been in use long before it - but not before Hamar got back its city status in the 1840-s.
