Etymology
Possibly of en non - origin, from non Ǫngullsey hook island (non ǫngull + non ey) or non Ǫnglisey Ǫngli's island, the name non Ǫngli itself being a variant of non Ǫngull and from the former noun. Folk etymology confused the name with that of the Angles. More at Anglesey.
