Etymology
goh, from goh gunda battle, fight berht bright, ultimately from gem-pro *gunþiz battle and gem-pro *berhtaz bright. The Gundal- form is unexplained, perhaps an example of intrusive-l (epenthetic ɫ); perhaps mis-analysis of Latinized names such as la Gundolfus, la Gundulfus; but primarily in variations of this name, and rarely in others.
