Luxembourgish
Etymology
Possibly inherited from lb gmh dugent, from lb goh *dugundi, northern variant of goh tugundi, from lb gem-pro *dugunþō. Cognate with nl deugd, en douth. The form is phonetically regular, but the Rheinisches Wörterbuch considers both this word and the rhyming lb Jugend youth borrowings from lb de -. At any rate, the predominant word in older Luxembourgish was lb Duucht, from gmw-pro *duhti, which is a related but different formation.
