German
Etymology
From de Bauer -in. The form de Bäurin is the etymologically correct one as de Bauer comes from gmh būr, gmh būre, and its -e- is only a gliding sound to be deleted before vocalic suffixes. However, the form de Bäuerin is now clearly predominant by analogy with nouns in the agent suffix de -er.
