Etymology
Formally de dudeln Sack play monotone music, tootle sack, bag. While it is uncertain whether the verb de dudeln as such is originally Slavic or not, its use in de Dudelsack is definitely based on de cs - and/or de pl - dudy (“bagpipes”). The latter was also borrowed into early modern German as de Dudei.
