Dutch
Etymology
First attested as eversche and evershude in 1404. Etymology nl unknown. Some attestations appear to suggest a derivation from a compound of nl ever boar, male pig and nl schot enclosed space, fenced-in land or nl schoot piece of land that juts upward, but this hypothetical compound does not match the oldest attestations.
