Dionne Price (29 August 1971 – 22 February 2024) was an American statistician and first African-American president of the American Statistical Association (ASA), the world's largest professional body representing statisticians. Price worked as a division director in the Office of Biostatistics of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, in the US Food and Drug Administration. Her division provided statistical advice "used in the regulation of anti-infective, anti-viral, ophthalmology, and transplant drug products". Quotes For wise and thoughtful leadership of the ASA; and for a passionate commitment to promote the practice and profession of statistics for all members of the statistics community. What inspires me is being able to use statistics to make a difference in the lives of others. We are students, we are educators, we are professionals, we are leaders, we are visionaries, we are problem solvers, we are innovators, we are story tellers, we are community, we are statisticians and data scientists informing decisions and driving discoveries! My greatest accomplishment is the daily knowledge that my statistical leadership and expertise positively contribute to ensuring the efficacy and safety of drugs and therapeutic biologics for the public. As a statistician, I make a difference in the lives of others. This is an honor and a joy! External links
