Anyone But You

Anyone but You is a 2023 romantic comedy film about two people who share a great first date but experience a misunderstanding that turns their mutual attraction ice-cold. They are then forced to pretend they are a couple at a destination wedding in Australia. Directed by Will Gluck. Written by Ilana Wolpert and Will Gluck. They only look like the perfect couple. Dialogue (first lines) Bea: Excuse me. Sorry. Excuse me. Oh. Sorry. Hi! Uh, where’s your bathroom? Barista: It’s for customers only. Bea: Oh, okay. I’ll buy something. Barista: You gotta pay up there. Bea: Can I just go now? I really have to pee. Bea: (seeing Jonathan and her parents arrive on the beach) No fucking way. Leo: Honey, look who’s here! Bea: I cannot believe they did this. Ben: Who is that? Bea: That is my ex, Jonathan. Jonathan: Hey, Bea! Ben: What is he doing here? Bea: My Black Hawk helicopter parents have been trying to get us back together for the past four months. Ben: They flew him halfway across the world to your sister’s wedding? That’s some deep-off shit. They came to play. Bea: That’s my parents. They think I’m throwing my life away. Bea: Okay, you don’t know my boxes and you never will. Just figure this out, please. Ben: Okay. We just suck face in front of everybody. Half of them think they set us up anyway. Bea: No, that’s too much. We need to do something that’s more hidden, so it feels more real and not some fuckboy wedding hookup. Ben: You’re calling me a fuckboy like it’s an insult? I own that shit.
