Orchid (hardcore punk band)

Quotes about Orchid In the interpretation of emo as purely a subset of hardcore, no band embodies emotion quite like Orchid. A huge element of their impact is guitarist Will Killingsworth’s ability to conjure emotion, claustrophobia, and urgency in his work. Killingsworth’s guitar playing gets so urgent in its sweeping that he accidentally falls into black metal. The few times Orchid slows down the pace, like on “New Jersey Vs. Valhalla,” Killingsworth can deliver a riff that’ll stick to your ribs nicely. It’s controlled chaos throughout their discography; while many powerviolence bands would devolve into aimless noise, everything Killingsworth does feels very pointed and necessary. External links
