Big Muff

thumb|right|Big Muff The Big Muff Pi (π), often known simply as the Big Muff, is a "fuzzbox" effects pedal produced in New York City by the Electro-Harmonix company, along with their Russian sister company Sovtek, primarily for use with the electric guitar. It is used by bassists as well, due to the Big Muff's squeaky frequency response. Quotes about the Big Muff This pedal goes way back to the late 1960s and early 1970s and has been used by many of our favorite guitar legends, including David Gilmour. It's one of the most notable distortion pedals with one of the most distinctive sounds. David Slavković of Ultimate-Guitar (November 16, 2018) Though not quite the distortion-free sustainer the original EH ads cracked it up to be, the Big Muff’s soft-clipping and treble-rolloff circuitry yielded smooth, singing tones that were way more tube-like than any fuzzbox could deliver.
