Rupert James Graham Lowe (born 31 October, 1957) is a British politician who is the leader of Restore Britain and has served as the member of Parliament (MP) for Great Yarmouth since 2024. Elected for Reform UK, he sat as an independent from March 2025 to March 2026 following the suspension of the party whip. Lowe founded the political organisation Restore Britain on 30 June, 2025, and registered it as an official political party on 20 March, 2026, becoming the party's only MP on that day. He was a member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the West Midlands from 2019 to 2020.
Quotes
We [Reform UK] have to change from being a protest party led by the Messiah into being a properly structured party with a frontbench, which we don't have. We have to start behaving as if we are leading and not merely protesting.
Quoted in "Farage hits back at Reform MP's leadership criticism", BBC News (6 March 2025).
If you are here illegally, you should be deported. That has to be the objective. If that results in one million plus deportations being the eventual aim? Then so be it. It may be uncomfortable to some, but there is no other way.Nigel may not agree with that, but it's the right thing to do and it's a perfectly reasonable policy discussion to raise.

We have just released the most detailed policy paper on restating self-defence rights to law-abiding Brits. If an intruder breaks into your home illegally and tries to do your family harm, what happens to them is their problem. If they get killed, the law would stand behind the homeowner.
"I'm not a 'monster' – I'm proud to lead the only party that puts Britons first", The Telegraph (4 March 2026).
[I'm] not really interested in Reform. I would have helped Nigel [Farage] become prime minister but I don't think he is fit to become prime minister. My personal opinion is that he is managed opposition. I think that if you look at the mainstream media, it is now pushing Nigel… so I'm not really interested in Reform.
From an interview, as cited in "Rupert Lowe: Nigel Farage is 'managed opposition'", The Spectator {26 May 2026).
If you define common sense as far-Right, I'm happy to be called far-Right. I'm not going to be put down by some woke creeps telling us we're racist.
From an interview with Annabel Denham, as cited in "Rupert Lowe: ‘I won’t have woke creeps telling us we’re racist'", The Telegraph (13 June 2026).
If [Tommy] Robinson wants to join Restore Britain that's up to him. I don’t know whether he’s a member or not. He may very well be. I told you, I don't audit our membership, nor does any party. If he wants to part with 20 quid and join Restore Britain, that's a matter for him, not for me.
From an interview, as cited in "Rupert Lowe: 'If Tommy Robinson wants to join us that’s up to him'", The Sunday Times (13 June 2026).
For 30 years, this country has been run into the ground by an establishment that does not care about the interests and concerns of ordinary British people. Mass immigration, economic collapse, woke ideology, and the relentless creep of radical Islam – everywhere you look, this country is in decline, and has been for a long time. Time and again, the decent men and women of this country have tried to use the ballot box to make their voices heard, only to have it thrown back in their faces by a political class that has forgotten who they are supposed to be serving. That is why I have decided to launch Restore Britain as a national political party.
Statement on Restore Britain (as of July 2026)
Nick Robinson: Are you aware that, by the definitions used in that particular report, King Charles is not a white Briton? Do you think he is a white Briton?Lowe: Well, many people have different interpretations of that, Nick. I mean, we can split hairs.
It is a fact that, by 2063, white British people will be a minority on current trends. I don't think anyone disputes that.
From an interview on the Today programme (BBC Radio 4, 6 August 2026), as cited in "Rupert Lowe refuses to say that the King is a white Briton", The Telegraph (6 August 2026).
The author of the report, Matt Goodwin, disputed Robinson's interpretation.
About Rupert Lowe
The Reform Party needs a new leader. Farage doesn't have what it takes.
[Asked if Lowe should become leader] I have not met Rupert Lowe, but his statements online that I have read so far make a lot of sense
Elon Musk on X (5 January 2025), as cited in "Elon Musk says Nigel Farage 'doesn't have what it takes' to lead Reform", ITV News (5 January 2025).
It's time to call out Rupert Lowe, the leader of Restore, a deluded egotist who is toxifying British politics, fanning the fires of racial and religious strife and risks handing permanent power to Andy Burnham's Leftist revolutionaries.
Sensible Right-wing commentators and politicians must speak out now against the bad apples on their side, or bear responsibility for the coming catastrophe.
Allister Heath "Farage must reject Rupert Lowe's repugnant dance with white nationalism", The Telegraph (5 August 2026).
In response to a post on X by Restore's campaign's director Charlie Downes condemning the article, Elon Musk commented: "True. Heath is a traitor".
Probably the best thing for Rupert to do at the moment, if he's serious about getting rid of this Labour government, is to publicly endorse Nigel as the next prime minister of this country, and row back on the comments he made about Suella, Rob Jenrick and Danny Kruger. If he can do that, then you can have a conversation. They've left the Tory Party on a point of principle, as I did. We need these people in government to help save our country.
Lee Anderson quoted in "Reform: No talks until Restore expels co-founder accused of anti-Semitism", The Telegraph (9 August 2026).
