Quotes You lean on those past experiences all the time. When I got the job, I was 32 years old, out in Tampa. Thought I had all the answers, and obviously didn’t, But now you get a chance to do it again and get a chance to learn from those lessons and learn from all those mistakes and learn from some of the good things that we did and you’re able to apply that here. I take this thing with a 1-0 mentality. You take that thing and you run with it, And this week, we’ve got a formidable opponent in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, trying to make a playoff run, that we can put a screeching halt to, which would be nice. We’ve got a chance to go out there and compete at a high level, we’ve got a chance to do great things. And you’ve gotta understand that you’re a minority in a world that’s gonna have a lot of interviews, that’s gonna have a lot of opportunities. But if you look ahead to those opportunities, you’re gonna miss the moment. And I don’t want to miss the moment of being the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons right now. When I was there, I’d just had my first child, Now I have three, a beautiful wife, we’ve moved on. We live in Atlanta. I’m a lot less fun. There’s a lot of things that have changed about me. Just being able to be around those young guys and watch those guys grow and develop, to see what they’ve become and to help them with my past experiences as well, along with our head coach here at the time, Dan Quinn, has been a lot of fun for me. It’s given me a lot of experience. It’s given me a lot of growth. It’s given me a lot of development in all types of areas, particularly having opinions that you can give the guys, that you can share with the guys, that you’ve been through. I think for him, having had the development of coaching offense and defense while he’s in Atlanta just makes him even more of a better candidate, Obviously, he has a great rapport with players and players love playing for him. If you’re looking for a head coach, what else are you looking for? It means lot to me, It creates that kind of self-awareness that you wanna have that job and you wanna do a great job for the people that you work for and the people that you work with. I definitely think he deserves another shot at being a head coach in the NFL, My opinion personally, I think he’s better than a handful of the coaches that are in the NFL right now, head coaches. I think he deserves that chance to prove himself again.
