Quotes
Many important molecules in biochemistry are polymers, including proteins and the nucleic acids DNA and RNA. Many carbohydrates can also form polymers that can play structural roles, store energy, or contribute to protein trafficking and cell–cell recognition. Lipids do not typically form polymers, but they are built in a modular fashion from smaller building blocks and aggregate using many of the same weak forces that govern the behavior of larger molecules.
