” I believe the album could have done better but I was happy with the piece of work I had put together. Being an independent artist its always difficult to get good promotion/marketing and distribution…while at the same time trying be a creative artist, and juggling other jobs…but I have grown and learned how to juggle things well and have a good rapport with dj’s, the media and my fans.”

“Zambian music right now is a bit stale no lie…there are some artists putting in the most into their craft but there are also alot of “run of the mill” artists that are dubbed “one hit wonders”. With the number that are working hard at their craft, producing quality and being consistent, they give me hope and yea I can say YES WE ARE on the right track. In order for us to elevate to the next level we need the support and respect of the consumer, the media and society at large.”

“After having done TV, I was more than excited when I got the call from ROCK FM as I had been wanting to get onto radio for a long time. The only reaction was of excitement and joy in understanding I had reached a goal I had been wanting to for a long time. We are very interactive on the show, we play all sorts of games, give away crazy random facts on “factmania”, we discuss and break down movies courtesy DSTV, we give sports news, entertainment news, current affairs and so much more. Its really fun. We push the boundaries of Zambian radio, we’re funny, witty, we try not to cross the douchebag line, lol!!! we are, however, very informative and educational too.RockFm, we killed bad radio. Guilty as charged.”

I have learnt to be persistent yet patient. To take lead with grace and tactfulness. To aim high and dream big yet set realistic goals. I’ve learnt to forgive myself, to love myself in all my neutrality, flaws and all. I’ve learnt not to look down on anyone and to help others whenever I can. I’ve learnt to overpromise and aspire to live up to my word. I’ve learnt to give respect in order to earn it. I’ve learnt that money is not everything but planting that seed and building that empire is. Lastly, I’ve learnt to dress well, smell like a million bucks and BE ON TIME!!!!!!! LOL

Challenges are always inevitable, but the biggest is having to TRANSFORM and not CONFORM. I have to educate my audience about me and what my music is about, instead of going with the trend or whats hot. Being a solo indie artist and a single mom also gets quite challenging but that’s a challenge I love to conquer day by day!

In five years I see myself being well grounded and steady on the road to wealth..I see myself inspiring and uplifting nations. I see my clothing line flourishing, my music becoming more mature, timeless and classic, probably will be playing an instrument by then…guitar maybe. my acting should have kicked off by then and I should have played a role in making African movies and TV a force to reckon with. I see an addition of children…I love kids…and also I should be done with my degree in psychology by then…which will pave way for me to later having a talk show and channel/network..kinda like Oprah. More Tyra…less Oprah…lol!!! Oprya Ice Queen…lol!! God’s grace, God’s will

well… it’s a brand that has come a long way…ummh… The brand is versatile, I think I have tried my best…. my manager and I have tried out to make sure that the brand is not boxed… You know…. In terms of; she is a rapper and that’s all she can do. No. There is so much more to the Cleo Ice Queen brand. She is a presenter, she is a radio personality, she is an aspiring actress who hasn’t like kind of pull through yet….. ummh… But yeah, she is also…you know..that fun girl, I think also there is the aspect of some trendy person and I am not really very stuck up as much as the Ice Queen people expect her to be – She is cheerfully…you know.. and yah, she just loves what she does, I think with the passion, so yeah… that’s the part that defines that it’s not boxed, it’s.. it’s versatile. I can do anything ******** anything to do with entertainment basically is what am all about, I have directed one video, co-directed one of my videos… so, there is a lot to the Cleo Ice Queen Brand.

Ummh…*laughs* I think to a certain point they kind of blend, they kind of blend as one person.. But I think Clementina usually is a girl at home that’s just sitting, mothering her child, being a daughter, being a sister, you know…. and stuff like that. Yah… People hardly call me Clementina, anyway. So, I think Clementina is just like on paper not for the fans… more people call me cleo, my daughter calls me mummy, my brothers and sisters call me CLE. A lot of people around me treat me as Cleo Ice Queen.

Well… I can’t really say that there is a secret, you know… ummh… if hard work is the secret, then that’s the secret, because for me to join the big brother I never really did join the house like blindly… and say so, like lemme go have fun. Everything was a plan, like strategically planned with my manager and everything. And it was like okay listen I want to be in the house, it’s something that I always wanted. So, when we found that, okay fine I am into this music career seriously now, it will work out. My manager told me that; “listen if you really wanna go into the house CLEO it can go either way, it can go 50/50, people will either love you or people will actually hate you and it will be the end of you.” So…I told them and said you know what? I am willing to take that risk, I think I know who I am now…. I am a bit grown, I was a proper mature girl, I was 23 when I went into the house… I was quite mature. I Felt like Africa had to see me, I knew it will give me that boost and motivation, It wasn’t always easy obviously but I think from there when I didn’t win it even encouraged me to even work harder, you know what I am saying…. I think a win would have actually made me lazy and very chilled up but now I feel like I have got so much hard work to do, to put in and that’s what makes me kind of non-stop, it’s because I just want to achieve greater things cos I believe God didn’t give me that win for a certain reason, because of that am not gonna sit back and just wait and say ooh… now God is gonna bring more blessings in my life, I believe every blessing comes because of each one’s responsibility, so I am responsible for a lot of things which means I have to deliver.. You know, I have to work hard.

INTERVIEW: Cleo Ice Ice Queen Discusses Kaladoshas and The AFRIMMA Awards Zambian Music Blog(October 20,2015)
Ummh.. to be honest I had hope that I would win… you know I was hopeful but wasn’t just sure.. I think social media has got so much power because most of the pushing that I did was on social media, my whatsapp, my twitter, my instagram, my friends also kind of campaigning for me and always saying ‘Vote For Cleo’. So when I looked at the polls obviously being the curious person that I am.. I would look at the polls and I would see the support that was coming in for Cleo Ice Queen and I was like wow… I just like this … you know!… but you can never be too sure with these award ceremonies. So I was confident but I wasn’t certain..
INTERVIEW: Cleo Ice Ice Queen Discusses Kaladoshas and The AFRIMMA Awards Zambian Music Blog(October 20,2015)
When I actually got the news.. I had actually forgotten about it coz I went for OktoberFest…. And on my way back driving from the OktoberFest on a Sunday morning… I was like oh my goodness… it felt good that I had won… so, It was a moment of joy and I felt very happy… and I was very proud… I anticipated for it more than anything and it’s one of those things that motivates me to keep working hard…I dedicate the award to my fans, each and every person that voted, all the supporters, this award is for them… I think that this being my first award, I will not hold on to it… it’s really for my fans.
INTERVIEW: Cleo Ice Ice Queen Discusses Kaladoshas and The AFRIMMA Awards Zambian Music Blog(October 20,2015)
Yah.. Of course you know.. Were my brand has reached I feel like I need to do a lot of collabos, I love doing collabos because it always adds some special elements to you.. especially for the soulful music, the music that has a soulful touch, I like collaborating on such… I have collaborated with a couple of people for my album… initially I wanted to do an all Africa Unite album but I just turned it into my solo album, so there is Kaladoshas, Salma, there Is Roberto, Jay Rox, there are a few international acts but I won’t mention them but I can mention Nadia Nakai from south Africa – definitely she’s gonna be on that, Eva from Nigeria, Stella Mwangi from Norway… so it’s gonna be a lot of collaborations from my album because it feel like that’s the step that I have reached as an international artist – So…I need to collaborate more with all sorts of people from all around African Continent and of course put my people on from back home. With me and Kaladoshas, we’re gonna do a few more Collabos cos.. I think we’ve got great musical chemistry.. we’ll do a couple of joints together – it will be a surprise but..

ANOTHER SONG SPEAKING REALITY ABOUT WEZILusaka Star(June 11,2018)
There are two sides to me, one side is Ice Queen the other side is Cleo. Cleo is more of the sentimental person and Ice Queen is the business minded and often standoffish kind of person. I like to keep things professional when I am in a working environment. I remember being a performer as early as four years old, one of the first influences in my music was Bow Wow (they used to call me that in High School) – but I was also very drawn to the music of Mr.Tupac Shakur.
Cleo – The Ice QueenChanters-livingstone.com(May 28,2013)
One of my first major achievements was winning the Rap For A Million while I was still in High School. When I had my daughter at twenty I would say she become a huge source of my inspiration, I became focused and now I want to leave a legacy by which to remember me. My Management Team Kamikazi Entertainment keep me grounded and hold me down all the time, I am working on something called “Kamikazi Woman” – which will be Women Empowerment through the use of Arts, Dance and Theatre. In 2013 I have collaborations lined up with Jaynamic (South Africa), JK (Zambia), Raydo (Digital X), Nana (XYZ), Salma Dodia and others…
Cleo – The Ice QueenChanters-livingstone.com(May 28,2013)
One of the major highlights in 2012 for me was being nominated as one of the best female rappers in South Africa, even though I was not victorious – It gave me a platform to meet other artists and be exposed to a larger audience. The South African Industry has a lot of opportunities and I have not faced a lot of challenges being from Zambia and being female. I do get a lot of comparisons to Nicki Minaj but I just do me and continue to reinvent myself.
Cleo – The Ice QueenChanters-livingstone.com(May 28,2013)
Another highlight of 2012 was recording on Tswa Daar remix for Khuli Chana. I met him at Mozboy Studio, we exchanged contacts and a while later he called me up and I recorded my final verse at Raw-X studios, all I can say is it was simply amazing and I thank him for putting me on.
