It showed through performances with some magical moments on the field in Season 1 Top it up with all the internationals coming in now, there are four in the team, and some off the field as well. I would say this is as close as you're going to get to playing in the IPL - if not similar. I’m expecting a lot more of it in Season 2. All of us, we've got our own way of leading teams,l've spent quite a bit of time with David and I feel like we're sort of similar in the sense that we're quite chilled and we let guys do their own thing and take charge of their own game. There are certain aspects that I've bounced off from different players in the past It was a disappointing season for us. We never quite finished where we wanted to be, but we take a lot of learnings from that, But we’ve announced a new coaching staff, so we can expect a lot of input from them. We’re hoping to make it a good Season 2. There haven’t been too many changes, just a couple of players and the rookie player being new to the setup. He’s obviously gone into coaching now, and we’ve developed a good relationship off the field as well. As a coach, he brings a lot of excitement and a lot of passion. He stays in tune with the current way the game is played. We know each quite well. He knows what he can get out of me. All of us, we've got our own way of leading teams,I've spent quite a bit of time with David and I feel like we're sort of similar in the sense that we're quite chilled and we let guys do their own thing and take charge of their own game. There are certain aspects that I've bounced off from different players in the past It's all about getting together as a group, understanding each other, I've been very privileged to play with this group for the last 12 or 18 months, playing a bit of A-side cricket together So we've got a good understanding of each other on and off the field, which helps a lot with communication and understanding each other as cricket players and as human beings. It's still a learning experience, I'm not the complete captain. I'll never claim to be the complete captain. And we'll always be learning in this game as players and as individuals Channeling David Miller: ‘Chilled’ Bjorn Fortuin applies Paarl Royals lessons to Proteas leadership, September 2026,SA20, by the Writer External links Category:1990 births Category:Living people Category:Cricketers from South Africa
