Umutoni Gatsinzi Nadine

UMUTONI Gatsinzi Nadine Nadine Umutoni Gatsinzi is a Rwandan lawyer and public-sector leader who has worked extensively in gender equality, governance, family development, child development, and public administration. She has served in several senior positions in the Rwandan government. She has been Chief Gender Monitor at Rwanda's Gender Monitoring Office (GMO) since August 22, 2023, succeeding Rose Rwabuhihi. Her role involves monitoring gender equality and gender accountability and contributing to efforts to address gender-based violence and related injustices. Before becoming Chief Gender Monitor, Gatsinzi served as Director General of the National Child Development Agency (NCDA). She previously served as Vice Mayor of the City of Kigali in charge of socio-economic affairs and as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion (MIGEPROF). Earlier in her career, she worked for approximately six years at the Rwanda Governance Board, including as Acting Director General of Research and later as Head of Corporate Services. She also spent about five years as a lecturer in law at the University of Rwanda, where she additionally coordinated the Master's programme in Business Law.
