Quattro domande in particolare. Primo.
There are four main issues we address in Inquiry on Jesus. Four questions in particular. First. Was Jesus a Christian or was he a Jew who always remained a Christian and never wanted to found a new religion? What if Christianity was born after his death, when and why did it form, and to what extent is it faithful to him? If Jesus was a Jew does our Western civilization also have Judaism at its base or just Christianity? Second. Was Jesus convinced that the coming of God's Kingdom was imminent? Did he really think he would end injustice, bring health to the sick, and deliverance to the poor and slaves? Or was he just waiting for the resurrection and carrying a message of otherworldly salvation? Third. Was the responsibility for Jesus' death on the part of the Romans who executed him with the Roman penalty of crucifixion or was it predominantly on the part of the Jews? And finally, fourth. Do the canonical Gospels (Mark, Luke, Matthew, and John) date to roughly 70 to 100 AD? Or did eyewitnesses write them? Is their information always accurate? Or do they sometimes contradict each other? To know who Jesus really was, is it also necessary to use non-canonical sources such as the Didache, the Ascension of Isaiah, the Gospel of Peter, etc.? Or must the four canonical Gospels and Paul's letters suffice? And again. Was Jesus celibate as tradition dictates, or was he married or even gay as a whole string of murky films and novels would like?

I respect the bishops but Jesus himself seems to justify suicide in the Gospel. Absolute value is the individual man, not abstract life, and man must follow what he believes is right in conscience. If it decides that under certain conditions, which must be shared and decided, it has the right to interrupt its existence, it seems to me that it follows an equally Christian principle.

The more religions and faiths risk coming into violent conflict with one another, the more urgent it is to have a debate on religions that goes beyond specific faiths. Experts must be able to put forward their theories without being judged, with regard to any religious belief.
