Mermicorno: Starfall (2025), is an American-Canadian animated television series. The show takes place in a fantastical and magical undersea world, where a team of Mermicornos (enchanting unicorn-mermaids) join together to save Astra's daughter and the ocean from the evil threat of the evil Ika Inkblot— an evil squid who’s bent on draining the sea of its creativity. Along the way on their epic journey, they unlock the magic of creative self-expression, realize the true power of friendship, laugh a lot, and discover the best bowl of ramen in the sea. Are you lost? Baby Bones: Nuh-uh. This is my house. Or was. Kameko: Where are your parents? Baby Bones: I don't know. We got splitted up when those big tentacle meanies came here and used that orb-y thing to make the town all scary. We all swam for it, but I got separated from my moms. And when I got back, they were gone. This nightlight is all I have left. [Cries] Astra: There, there, kid. It's okay. Baby Bones: Ugh! And that's enough babysitting for me. Nautique: "To pursue the darkness, you need to find the right light." Aha! Look! A tentacle trail. The Squideons left this phosphorescent trail behind them. Astra: And if we follow it, it'll lead us right to Ika's lair. Kameko: Uh, problem. We would need Baby Bones nightlight for that. Baby Bones: You can have it. Nautique: Really? Won't you need it? Baby Bones: Nope. Now that I know there's Mermicornos out there, there's nothing to be scared of. Nautique: Thank you, Baby Bones. Astra: Thank you, Baby Bones! Toodles! I'd like to see Octokyo as much as the next Mermicorno, but we need to focus on getting Pearl Girl back. But don't worry, Search Squad. You're talking to the President of the Squish Fan Club. [in unison] Awwww. Get in here. [magical music] Pearl Girl: Astra? Is that you? Astra: [gasps] Pearl Girl! Pearl Girl: I can hear you? Astra: Are you okay? You look different. Pearl Girl: Astra? Astra, help me! Astra: Where are you? We're coming for you! Dark Pearl: [cackling] Astra: What's happening to you? Pearl Girl: What? You don't like the new look? Too bad. I do. Astra: Whatever's wrong, I'll fix it! Pearl Girl: Awww. You can't! When the stars are drained and the ocean is draped in shadow, my transformation will be complete. And there won't be anything you can do to stop me! Astra: Uh... Yeah, that's great, Astra, but it doesn't take my mind off the fact that we're in the Octokyo sewer! Aww. Would a hug cheer you up? No! Get your sewer hooves away from me! Break it up, you two. Let's go. Ugh! Okay, Moon Shells, Barnacle Glue, Neptune Flower. According to Princess Hana's diary, I have everything I need to craft our new Hooflets! New shoes? Finally, this mission's getting good! They're a special kind of talisman designed by Princess Hana. The diary says they'll make our Creative Forces stronger. That's exactly what we need to rescue Pearl Girl from Ika Inkblot. Sounds good to me. Gwen: I'll take mine in a roomy 7. Gwen, don't be so greedy. Besides, I call dibs on the first pair. There'll be more than enough Hooflets to go around. All I need to do is follow Princess Hana's instructions. How hard can it be? Aha. Yeah, I swam right into that one. [Mermicorno: Starfall Theme song plays] Hmm. "Glue the pieces of Moon Shell into the shape of two Hooflets. Then layer petals along the top." Oh no, no, no, no, uh, um, Squishella! Squishella: I need your fix-it powers fast! ♪ Waah ahh ahhh ♪ I guess my Creative Force doesn't work on glue spills. Ugh! Great! Now I have to start over. Don't you think you're being a little hard on yourself? It was just a mistake. But there's no time for mistakes. The diary says we need these Hooflets to take on Ika Inkblot! The sooner I get them done, the sooner we can rescue Pearl Girl. Don't worry, Astra. I know you'll make the perfect Hooflets for me. I think you mean me! Ugh, not again! You've been competing all day. Who gets the first pair of Hooflets? Who can eat breakfast the fastest? Who can burp the loudest? Um, that last one was all Gwen. I hope Nautique and Kameko are having more luck at the library. Thanks for coming with me, Kameko. We need to figure out what Pearl Girl meant when she spoke to us through the locket. We know Sawtooth and the Squidions are draining the stars, but what's "draping the ocean in shadow"? Not sure, but we'll figure it out, just like the Creepy Kelp Forest. Thump, thump, hoof bump! If we're not ready, it will be your fault! So do better! Yes, Your Darkness. Good. Hmm. One of my Squidion Scouts has spotted the Mermicornos in Octokyo. No, I win! No, I win! What? - Ah! - Excuse you. I did it! It took a bunch of tries, and all the supplies I had, and definitely too much bubble tea, but I did it! They're beautiful! A work of art, really. Gimme, gimme, gimme! Hey! Those are mine! I knew this would happen, which is why I made two pairs! Just put them on, pound your hooves together, and say "Hooflet Power"! I hope getting these at the same time will end all the competing. I'm putting them on first! No way! Squishella and Gwen: Hooflet Power! Squishella: So, how do I look? Gwen: Yeah, Astra, uh, what do you think? [Astra and the Chief looks in shock and disbelief. Squishella and Gwen look at them baffled by their expressions until they look at themselves and see that they’ve been fused together] Squishella and Gwen: [screams] AHHHHHHH!!! Squishella: Ah! Ow! Gwen: Oof! Ah! Get off. Squishella and Gwen: [screams again while trying to get rid of fused] AHHHHHH!!!! Get off, get off, get off! Astra, what did you do?! Um, I don't know. Um, okay, I followed the instructions exactly. "Break Moon Shells," yes, "apply petals." Oh. Uh-oh. What do you mean "uh-oh"? I may have skipped a step. Which was? "You must let the glue dry before putting on the Hooflets. "Failure to do so will cause any Mermicornos wearing them to stick together." That's a pretty big step to skip! There has to be a way to fix this! Oh! That's it! Squishella, you can fix or break things with your voice. If you shatter the Hooflets, maybe you'll go back to normal. Wait! If I shatter the Hooflets, we'll go back to normal. Astra just said that. Oh, whatever. The point is good ideas are flowing. Let's do this. Gwen: Frankly, ha, you've never been cooler. Astra: This is no time for squabbling. We have to get rid of these Hooflets. They can only be broken by someone whose Creative Force has been magnified by a Hooflet of their own." Uh, so to break this Hooflet, you need to make another one? No offence, but that didn't go great the last time. Well, I'm willing to take the risk. Come on, Astra. Craft your little tail off. The thing is, I kind of used up all our supplies making these ones. What? Then what are we gonna do? I cannot believe you're making me go out there like this! Look, all we need are Moon Shells, Barnacle Glue, and a Neptune Flower. We get those super fast and we get you two apart. Agreed? Agreed. Look what you did! I insist on being the primary swimmer! Here's the plan. We spread out and find the Mermicornos. Then, we split 'em up and take 'em on one by one. That way, they can't gang up on us. You are strong. I can't do what you do. Honestly, I wish I could. My dad and I used to watch the lunar eclipses whenever they happened. The next one is in two weeks! Then we need to move fast. Next, we upgrade the Hooflets. But this time, I promise to read the instructions. Can you not compliment me when I'm trying to compliment you? And they're fighting again. Astra: It was nice while it lasted. Okay, you two, break it up! Squishella: Excuse me! Gwen: I'm being extremely kind and you are interrupting! A Song of Ice and Fire Noodles (1.09) Squishella: When Kameko said there were Arcadi-cornos all over the ocean, I thought it meant we'd have more fun, not that Astra could make us train first thing in the morning. Astra: Come on, Squishella! This is the perfect place to test out our new Hooflets and see what our amped up powers can do. Squishella: Please be me. Me, me, me, me, me! Gwen: Hmm. Guess it chose me. Snow Quartz, on! Natuique: What? [belching] Sorry. Too many fire noodles. Imitation Power. Cool. Squishella: Hmph. I don't care for it. Gwen: Snow Quartz, off. Astra: Only three more gems to get. How is the ability to make unlimited mint bubblegum helpful? We chew the gum, use its stickiness to trap Ika, Sawtooth, and the Squidions, then blow them away with our minty fresh breath! Love the idea of minty fresh breath, but like I said, the next gem we need is Topaz. It gives you the power to duplicate yourself. Hmm. The Diary told us where to get the Aquamarine, and Squish and I knew where to find the Snow Quartz, but I'm not seeing anything about where to find the Topaz. [speaking Seahorse] Uh-huh. Mmm. You don't say! Hey, Nautique, mind filling us in? Sean F says the Topaz is extremely rare, and that it can't be mined with common equipment. But there's a cave system called Vulcan's Crater that is filled with Topaz. A big community of fish called the Dancing Dottybacks lives there. They excavate the Topaz with a secret dance.
