In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon

In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon is a 2023 documentary film about the music and life of Paul Simon. As well as looking thoroughly at Simon's entire career, it documents the recording of his album Seven Psalms. Directed by Alex Gibney. Paul Simon What I've tried to learn, after all of these years, is that when you find a thing that produces a feeling of peace or joy, try and extend it. Try and hold on to it. It's like bliss. It's like there's no more. It's a mystery. It's a big mystery. I think it's a question now of putting that struggle in the right perspective, that's all. I lulled you successfully, hopefully, into a dream, but I need your consciousness. So, I'm gonna wake you up a little bit. Dialogue Edie Brickell: This record is gonna be so special. Paul Simon: I almost teared up for a minute there. Edie Brickell: I can understand. Paul Simon: At one—it's making me cry now. Edie Brickell: It's beautiful, Paul.
