It is a British red ensign, featuring the UK's flag in the canton, adorned with the shield of the coat of arms of Canada. It was replaced in 1965 with the current flag. Canadians fought for the freedoms we enjoy today. I don’t think they fought to have the Red Ensign denigrated in such a manner, quite frankly.
