(About Renato Zero) I like it so much that I have his song «The Bandwagon» in my repertoire. I've liked him ever since, precisely because I do the same job as him, I wanted to listen deeply to what he sings and what he says. Before, it was difficult for me to accept certain unscrupulous attitudes of his, the desire to scandalize at all costs, certain displays of ambiguity. Then I delved into his music and his words and realized that Renato Zero is intelligent, sensitive, who writes and sings with his head and heart. I loved him a lot then. Renato, with his songs, gives me a lot, right on a human level. I would love to meet him personally. From an intervie by Cristina Maza, Perché vi piace Renato Zero?, 1979.
