Robert Rivas (7 June 1946 – 27 September 2026) was a Trinidadian prelate of the Catholic Church who served as the bishop of the Diocese of Kingstown and as the archbishop of the Archdiocese of Castries. Quotes The proclamation of the Word is central to the faith life of the people in the Caribbean, a region where people are described as "religious" and Bible-reading. Because the people of the Caribbean place much emphasis on the proclamation of the Word, they have great expectations of the preacher... Robert RIVAS, O.P., Archbishop of Castries (SAINT LUCY) (11 October 2008) Press Office of the Holy See Our light must shine in all the places of sin, corruption, violence, destruction of human life and the environment. The victory has already been won but we must be brave in our mission of transforming the darkness into light.
