Renée Hložek (born 15 November 1983) is a South African cosmologist, Professor of Astronomy & Astrophysics at the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy & Astrophysics at the University of Toronto, and an Azrieli Global Scholar within the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. Quotes I am a cosmologist, which means that I spend my time thinking of the universe and how it formed and evolves with time. I work with a combination of data and theory – it is important to me to make sure that our theories actually match the data we observe! https://ladyparagons.com/women-in-science-interview-with-renee-hlozek-princeton-university-cosmologist-ted-fellow/ Because I analyse data as well as testing theories, a lot of my time is spent writing (and debugging) computer code, and doing statistical analysis. It is very rewarding to go from a theory that you think might explain our universe, to the nitty gritty of data analysis. I’m lucky to be able to work in both areas. https://ladyparagons.com/women-in-science-interview-with-renee-hlozek-princeton-university-cosmologist-ted-fellow/ External links Category:Women scientists from South Africa Category:1983 births Category:Women born in the 1980s Category:Living people
