Lennard Darbee

Lennard Darbee (fl. c. 1948) was an American evangelist from Seattle. Quotes Either God will punish America or He must one day stand at His own judgment bar and apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. "Christ in Hell", in The Sword of the Lord, vol. 10, no. 46 (November 19, 1948), p. 4, col. 2. Simplified in Robert Waelder, Progress and Revolution (New York: Int. Univ. Press, 1967), ch. 16, p. 311: "If God does not soon do something drastic to America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah." Billy Graham attributed the same idea in different words to his wife Ruth: "If God doesn’t punish America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah."—Christian Piatt, "Billy Graham: Punish America or Apologize to Sodom & Gomorrah", Sojourners (July 30, 2012).
