Jeanne Adriaanse (born 17 February 1962) is a South African politician and former educator who has been a Permanent Delegate to the National Council of Provinces from the North West since 2024, representing the Democratic Alliance. Quotes I'm a community servant. I think I was born like that. I serve the community in different ways. I was a Teacher and a CPF Chairperson for many years. And through that, I engaged with the public on a on a daily basis and cared for the people who were involved and affected by crime. From this, my passion for the community and the suffering of the community shone sort of a light on me after which I became involved in politics. When I was still at school, I sat on the Junior City Council. What is important is that this was a long line of serving, because I'm a firm believer of servant leadership. My desire to make a broader impact led me to the Democratic Alliance (DA) and I served in Council as a Ward Counsellor and struggled with the people, with the service delivery issues in Potchefstroom in the North-West for many years. And I realized that the real difference has come from a broader perspective, and I was so honored to be elected as a Member of Parliament, serving in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), because I really believe we can make a real difference and be the voice of the people in Parliament. As an MP, I'm responsible for scrutinizing legislation, the budgets that come before us, and plain and simply, holding government to account. And then, most importantly, I represent my constituents and my province and their interests, which is very important to me, because we are nothing without our people, which we serve. I also work to ensure that government policies translate into real improvements on the ground, especially in education, health, and sport, arts, and culture. We must realize something real, which makes a real difference for everyone. I hope to have a lasting impact by advocating for policies that promote economic opportunities, fight corruption, and improve service delivery for everyone on the ground, because the North-West Province is inundated with issues and unemployment, and we really need real change in the North-West Province. My ultimate goal is to help create this in South Africa where every child is safe, safe from abuse, safe from bullying, safe from being exploited and is able to have quality education for every job and feel supported.
