Kiss of the Dragon

Kiss of the Dragon is a 2001 American-French martial arts film about a betrayed Chinese intelligence officer enlists the aid of a prostitute to prove his innocence from a deadly conspiracy of corrupt Parisian police while returning a favor to her. Directed by Chris Nahon, based on a story by Jet Li and screenplay-adapted by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. Kiss Fear Goodbye Liu Jian The blood from your whole body goes to your head... it stops there... never comes down. But soon, it will come out of your nose, your ears, and even your eyes... and then... you will die... painfully... I don't sell shrimp chips. Uncle Tai You know, since I've been here I've had four others like you. Strong, fast, young, they've all died, the last right in my arms. Before I go home I'd like to send one back alive. Richard There is a time for diplomacy and a time for action. Diplomacy is dead. Sometimes the best are also the worst. It's really sad. Fat Hooker [Comes out from an apartment building after servicing a client; then shoves Jessica to the ground] Bitch! I've gone for five minutes, and you think you can park your skinny ass in my spot? Fuck off! You want some more?! [Jessica, completely under influence, impulsively head-butts the hooker breaking her nose] Aah! She... She broke my nose! Dialogue Richard: What did you do to me? Liu Jian: I put a needle in your neck. Richard: That's it? Liu Jian: In a certain point. Very forbidden. It's called the Kiss of the Dragon. Richard: Kiss my ass! Liu Jian: I am a cop. Jessica: I am Santa Claus. Liu Jian: Who is Santa Claus? Jessica: [Liu walks up to her with needle in hand] No... (x3) needles. Liu Jian: No needles? No... [grabs a needle and uncuffs her] Jessica: Ow, how did you do that? Liu Jian: Chinese magic. Jessica: [Liu slaps Jessica sleeping on toilet] How long did I sleep? Liu Jian: Only a minute. Liu Jian: [Richard aims gun at Isabel's head] Wait! You're making a big mistake. Richard: Am I? Liu Jian: In the second it takes you to kill her, I will have all the time I need to kill you... Jessica: I'm not your type, huh? Liu Jian: I don't have a type. Richard: [Handing Isabel a matchbox car] Here, sweetie. Isabel: Don't you have any Barbies? Richard: All my Barbies are working. Richard: [Chasing Liu inside the supply room] Check the vent! Thug: I think... Richard: [Shoots him] Don't think! Liu Jian: I don't like to get bored. Richard: Me neither, but you turn out to be VERY boring. Uncle Tai: You play Mah-jongg? Liu Jian: A little. Uncle Tai: I love Mahjong. Keeps the mind sharp. It's hard to find good players around here. That's why I play by myself. This way, I always win. Liu Jian: This wasn't part of the plan. Richard: It is now. Don't worry. It's all under control. He'll do his thing, then we'll do ours. Liu Jian: Where's the other girl? Richard: Prettying up in the bathroom. Hooker: [Riding the Chinese client on the floor] You want to go to Heaven? Chinese client: Take me to Heaven! I'm going! Yes! Yes! I'm going! [Hooker stabs the Chinese client repeatedly] No! You motherfucker! Let me up! She stabbed me! The dumb bitch stabbed me! Richard: Stay calm. (x3) Chinese client: I'm dying... Richard: Stop recording. Fuck! Liu Jian: We need to get him to the hospital. Richard: He doesn't want to go to a hospital. He want to go to heaven. [He shoots the Chinese customer] Liu Jian: [Shocked] Why did you kill him? Richard: [Chuckles derisively to goons] The question is; "Why did you kill him?" [To Liu condescendingly] Thanks for the help, Johnny. Cast Jet Li as Liu Jian Bridget Fonda as Jessica Kamen Tchéky Karyo as Insp.
