Quotes
(At the funeral of Nilde Iotti) She had a conception of democracy in which a political opponent is a friend. She always considered the other person’s point of view.
Quoted in Politici e gente comune per l'addio a Nilde Iotti, Repubblica.it, 6 December 1999.
I believe the most difficult, most painful day was undoubtedly the day of the statement from Lago della Duchessa [18 April 1978]. It was a very painful, very difficult moment, having to tell my wife and children that there was this possibility of Aldo Moro having been killed. However, I cannot forget that when the children and I began to cry, Mrs Moro, with tremendous fortitude, first invited us to pray and then said: ‘Never mind, wait a moment whilst I go and make you a nice cup of coffee; we need a nice cup of coffee’. And so she did. I spent several hours with them, because we were waiting for some confirmation or something to refute the statement.

My regret is that there was no desire to continue investigating, to study our work, to get to the bottom of it, to read and weigh up the 120 volumes of the P2 Commission's records, which anyone could consult and which are held in the Chamber's library..

Quotes about
The Constitution was her civil Gospel. The Constitution "born of the Resistance": she often quoted it and used it as a compass, as a point of reference when she had to make political decisions.
Gianni Barbacetto, quoted in Anselmi, che vita: Resistenza, Costituzione, lotta alla P2, Il Fatto Quotidiano; reported in Giannibarbacetto.it, 2 November 2016.
Tina Anselmi is a very likeable woman. [...] She has a serious, frank and straightforward manner, down-to-earth, without insincere modesty or off-putting arrogance. She has a beautiful, ever-present smile and a lovely, clear complexion. She possesses that special phlegmatic serenity and human understanding towards everyone which are the qualities of a mediator by vocation.
Lietta Tornabuoni, quoted in Quella donna piace, La Stampa, 3 December 1981.
