Geremia Bonomelli

Quotes As one never does violence to nature without its revolting and avenging itself, so God, who is its Author, does not lay upon it what it is not yet fit to carry. Let us never forget this: nature is the base and foundation on which religion is laid, just as the wild tree-trunk is the base and foundation for the graft; without a suitable woodland tree it is folly to talk of grafting; with out reason and will there can be no question of religion, faith, and laws.
