Quotes
When he called me I couldn't say no, We have a lot to do to get the club back where it belongs and I'm very happy to be back here.
I feel very emotional and I also feel a sense of duty. I have to give 100% to rebuild, and to give enthusiasm and a sense of security. We can look to do important things for the fans. I left Milan in May 2012 at the end of a cycle. My job now is to open a new one.
For me it's not a question of one, two or three attackers, it's about a philosophy of how to play. My plan will be to have lots of players in the opposition area, Milan's best performances in recent years, for example against Barcelona, took place when we were able to stay in the opponent's half. It is easier to get a result when you play good football. I've seen many of the Milan games so far and I think they deserve more points than they currently have.

At the start of that season we could not have imagined winning any trophies. But the team just came together in a way that was really special. We beat Bayern Munich, then Manchester United, and then Liverpool – after losing to them in the [2005] final. It was an incredible explosion of emotions. And it was justice through sport. They wanted to take away our possibility to play in the Champions League when we had done nothing to deserve that, and we won it back.
After the game I wanted to make an official statement, not to cause a problem but because I wanted to make the point that if players treat each other like this what message do we send to the outside world?
You can imagine how embarrassing it was for him, I didn't say anything, I just turned to him and gave him my hand. The moment was incredible.
Wherever I go the fans are warm to me, even from Inter, I think I'm outspoken, but I think people respect me for that. Who does not talk cannot be judged. Who does not shoot the penalty cannot miss.
