CarnEvil

CarnEvil is a 1998 light-gun shooter arcade game released by Midway Games. It is often noted for its heavy use of graphic violence and dark humor. Despite it being Midway Games' most successful light gun shooter, it has never been released on home consoles. On your left, you’ll see the tomb of Ludwig von Tökkentäkker, where the Legend of Greely Valley all got started. You all know the legend of Greely Valley… Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker [in a German accent] Welcome to... CarnEvil! [in a German accent] I am Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker. You will be my masterpiece! [in a German accent] There is no escape! [in a German accent] Welcome aboard. From this study, I have observed your every move. BUT YOU DO NOT OBEY! Prepare to die! [in a German accent] Umlaut, get him! [in a German accent] Skeletons, attack! [in a German accent] Dummkopfs! [in a German accent] Schweinehund! [in a German accent] How about some fireworks?! [he launches fireworks at The Main Character] Umlaut Welcome to the Haunted House- Meet a ghoul who lost her head. If you'd like to stay and join us, you're always welcome- Alive or dead! What goes up must come down- Now you're headed for Rickety Town. Ride all the rides, have some fun- Then eat your heart out on a sesame seed bun! Spooky Sam: On your left, you’ll see the tomb of Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker, where the Legend of Greely Valley all got started. You all know the legend of Greely Valley…[The Main Character jumps off from the tour early and goes to Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker's tombstone, shining his flashlight on it. He takes the golden token out of the slot. He looks at it. He places it into the mouth of Umlaut atop Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker's tombstone. Suddenly, Umlaut comes to life and flies around as the ground beneath The Main Character shakes. The Haunted House rises. The Freak Show rises. The Slay Ride from Rickety Town rises. Suddenly, a gust of winds and leaves blows The Greely Valley Cemetery gates closed as The Greely Valley Cemetery gates suddenly turn into the CarnEvil gates, and all of The Greely Valley Cemetery becomes CarnEvil. Suddenly, the Shooting Gallery rises from the ground, with Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker standing on top of it]Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker: [in a German accent] Welcome to... CarnEvil![He and Umlaut laugh maniacally as the camera trucks-out to reveal CarnEvil. Umlaut flies toward the screen, laughing maniacally, and the screen goes black. The main title appears on the screen]Umlaut: Welcome to the Haunted House- Meet a ghoul who lost her head. If you'd like to stay and join us, you're always welcome- Alive or dead! From this study, I have observed your every move. BUT YOU DO NOT OBEY! Prepare to die! [Suddenly, Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker brings The Main Character up onto his airship. Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker laughs maniacally. He teleports away] Umlaut, get him! Umlaut: At last we meet! Umlaut: Hello again, and goodbye![After The Main Character defeats Umlaut]Umlaut: Oh, I'm shattered! Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker: [in a German accent] Skeletons, attack! Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker: [in a German accent] Dummkopfs!Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker: [in a German accent] Schweinehund!Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker: [in a German accent] How about some fireworks?! [he launches fireworks at The Main Character][Professor Ludwig von Tökkentäkker gets knocked into the front propeller of his airship, where he gets dismembered, screaming in pain and agony. Suddenly, his airship begins to catch fire and explode. The Main Character and Betty fall out of the exploding airship. The next morning, they wake up beside his grave]Betty: What's going on? [The Main Character sees the golden token fall back into the slot. He takes the golden token out of the slot. He looks at it. He slowly reaches for Umlaut's mouth] No! No! Aah![The Main Character re-inserts the token into Umlaut's mouth. Umlaut comes back to life and laughs evilly as the screen fades to black. "THE END" appears on the screen]'' Voice cast Jack E.
