Quotes I started football as a young girl with big dreams and I’m proud of how far it has taken me It hasn’t always been easy but hard work and patience kept me going Every time I step on the pitch I remember where I come from and why I started Playing for Nigeria means everything to me it’s always an honour Football has helped me grow not just as a player but as a person I’ve learned that consistency and discipline matter more than just talent My journey is proof that you can start small and still reach big places I always try to give my best because I know young girls are watching and believing too There were challenges along the way but I never let them stop me At the end of the day I just love the game and what it has given me Reference FIFA – Player profile and World Cup participation https://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/players/player/277095/ Soccerway – Career statistics, clubs, and goals https://int.soccerway.com/players/rita-chikwelu/80748/ UEFA – Umeå IK and Swedish league career https://www.uefa.com/womenschampionsleague/clubs/players/250034626--rita-chikwelu/ Goal.com – Transfer to Spanish clubs (Madrid CFF, Levante Las Planas) https://www.goal.com/en/player/rita-chikwelu/ Naisten Liiga / Finnish Football Association – Top scorer in 2009 https://www.palloliitto.fi/uutiset/rita-chikwelu-top-scorer-2009 The Nation Nigeria – African Women’s Championship wins and local recognition https://thenationonlineng.net/rita-chikwelu-honoured-by-hometown/ Olympics Official – Participation in 2008 Beijing Olympics https://www.olympic.org/rita-chikwelu
