Bring It On: Fight to the Finish

Bring It On: Fight to the Finish is a 2009 teen comedy film about Lina Cruz (Christina Milian), a sharp-witted cheer captain who moves from East Los Angeles to affluent Malibu after her mother remarries. There, she clashes with a snooty rival coach and turns a pathetic junior varsity squad into championship contenders. Directed by Bille Woodruff. Written by Alyson Fouse and Elena Song. Dialogue Catalina ‘Lina’ Cruz: This is Sea Lion territory. Don’t ever shake your conceited Jag butt over here again. Avery: Excuse me. Then who’s supposed to show our school what a real squad looks like? Kayla: Not this mariachi band. Treyvonetta: (aggressively) You’re so lucky I found Jesus. Gloria: (pulls the antagonists apart) Hey, hey, hey. Okay? Treyvonetta: I didn’t use my hands! Gloria: All right. But you can’t fight girls like this. They press charges. Avery: Right. Run away. Skyler: How do they move their bodies like that? Catalina ‘Lina’ Cruz: Don’t be scared, Sky. Look, I got you looking good. This is impromptu flavor school for you guys. We’re about to loosen you guys up. Skyler: What do you mean? Catalina ‘Lina’ Cruz: Oh, you’ll see! (laughs) Catalina ‘Lina’ Cruz: (just before the finals are about to commence) Are you all right? Skyler: (with that sense of loss) I just wish she were here. Catalina ‘Lina’ Cruz: Your mother’s always here. In your heart. Catalina ‘Lina’ Cruz: (Dream Team won, Jaguars came a poor second) So, is this the part where we kiss and make up? Avery: (still has that defiance) Cat, bite me! Evan: (Avery ran tearfully to her brother) I know, I know. Losing sucks! (comforts her) Avery: (re the trophy and everything lost) That’s mine!
