thumb|In this parable, a woman sweeps her dark house looking for a lost coin (engraving by John Everett Millais).
The Parable of the Lost Coin is one of the parables of Jesus. In it, a woman searches for a lost coin, finds it, and rejoices. It is a member of a trilogy on redemption that Jesus tells after the Pharisees and religious leaders accuse Him of welcoming and eating with "sinners.. The other two are the Parable of the Lost Sheep, and the Parable of the Lost Son or Prodigal Son.
Quotes about
Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Gospel of Luke 15:8-10 KJV.
