Quotes
“In the circumstances I make the following order, the application in terms of section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Act is granted, the accused is found not guilty and discharged.”
Politicsweb (judgment discharging Shrien Dewani, 8 December 2014)
“I have no doubt that an accused person (whether or not he is represented) is entitled to be discharged at the close of the case for the prosecution if there is no possibility of a conviction other than if he enters the witness box and incriminates himself.”
Politicsweb (from the same judgment)

Mail & Guardian (criticising the Road Accident Fund)
“The first respondent’s attitude in this regard is without any foundation and displays a lamentable lack of appreciation of how the practice of law functions.”
Mail & Guardian (on the Road Accident Fund)
