Space Buddies is a 2009 American science fiction comedy film. It is the third film in the Air Buddies franchise. It was released by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment on February 3, 2009. Like Air Buddies and Snow Buddies, it was released directly on DVD and became the first one to be released on Blu-ray. One Small Step For Dog. One Giant Leap For Dogkind. (tagline) Dr. Finkel Again, please refrain from touching anything with your hands, you slimy, little, germ-ridden creatures. Yuri [as Spudnick plays a music box] Oh, that's nice. Hold me closer, tiny dancer… Spudnick [first lines] Dreams are like stars. You can't touch them, but if you follow them, they will lead you to your destiny. I used to dream of being the first dogmonaut to walk on the moon. And now, I dream of going home to my boy, Sasha. I am no alien. Though I suppose if I stay in space any longer, I may qualify. Buddha The window of opportunity is upon us. Let's seize it. One small step for dog, one giant leap for dogkind. Rosebud This is more like it. I feel much prettier in pink. Budderball I... don't recommend liftoff on a... full stomach... [looks inside the fridge full of veggies] Huh? Hmm, where's the beef?! B-Dawg Who put the Red Bull in Buddha's doggy bowl? Come on, aliens, I… I ain't scared of nothing, because I float like a butterfly and-and sting like a bee, dawg. Check it, I'm doin' the moonwalk. Mudbud This is out of this world! Literally. Dialogue [Rosebud peeks her head out of the doggy door to notice Buddha] Buddha: Come on, sis. I've got a plan for a rainy day field trip. Rosebud: Gross! No way I'm going out in that rain. It'll wreck my fur-do. Buddha: We're on a journey of ginormous proportions! Budderball: [politely] I'm about to eat some ginormous proportions myself. I'll see you guys later. Buddha: [with urgency in his voice] Budderball, there's no time for breakfast! Budderball: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! [The other Buddies see Mudbud in his cage] Rosebud: Looks like he got a time out. B-Dawg: When it rains, Mudbud gets grounded. He's a repeat offender. Budderball: Remember the time I sampled the Thanksgiving turkey? I got a serious time out for that too. B-Dawg: Sample, schmample. You ate the whole Butterball turkey, dawg! Budderball: [nervously] Kind of embarrassing to be named after a turkey. [Rosebud gazes at herself in the mirror for a good while] Rosebud: So, how do I look? Mudbud: [not seeing all the fuss over looking pretty] Uh... like our sister in a space suit. B-Dawg: I know I look tight. [However, Budderball is straining a little bit in his space suit, looking very uncomfortable] Budderball: Mine's a little too tight. Someone give me a paw. [However, as Rosebud moves her mouth to take Budderball's paw, the others try to stop her] Mudbud, Buddha and B-Dawg: Don't pull his paw!! [They are too late, however-- Rosebud has already pulled Budderball's paw, causing Budderball's suit to inflate like a balloon] B-Dawg: Check it. It's the Goodyear blimp! [Budderball spots some writing on the ground, and thinking it says "lunch pad", he immediately becomes excited] Budderball: Golly gosh! Maybe we could stop at the lunch pad for a snack, if it's on the way. Rosebud: Budderball, that says "launch pad". [B-Dawg finds a pair of the same glasses that Astro wears back in the control room and puts them on, showing them off to his siblings] B-Dawg: Check out these retro shades. Mudbud: Dude, you shouldn't be touching those. B-Dawg: I could fly this thing, no problem. Piece of cake. [Budderball keeps looking at all the food options on the Lunch-O-Matic] Budderball: Yeah, there's cake… ooh, donut! But I think I'll start with the chili cheese dog, then steak and finish with a bean burrito. Buddies: [in protest] No beans! [The Vision One begins to rumble and shake] Rosebud: [in panic] Guys, I hear a low rumbling sound! Budderball: Hey, don't look at me. [The Buddies feel like they are going at a million miles per hour on the ship, excited and terrified all at once] Budderball: It feels like my stomach is in my throat!! Rosebud: Whoa!! This is like a ride on Space Mountain!! B-Dawg: Dad always said I should be more down to Earth! Why didn't I listen?! [The ship is quickly approaching the Russian research space station floating outside of the Earth's orbit, and Mudbud is first to see it] Mudbud: Dudes, what is this place? Rosebud: Whatever it is, it's getting closer. B-Dawg: [a bit scared about the development before regaining his composure] I hope it's not an alien's house! Not that I'd be scared, or anything. Budderball: I hope it's a Denny's, I could sure go for a Moons Over My Hammy right about now. Buddha: We should explore and broaden our horizons. B-Dawg: Broaden our horizons?! We're lost in space, dawg. I think our horizons are broad enough. [The night shade deactivates, revealing the moon in front of the Buddies and Spudnick as B-Dawg lets out a scream] B-Dawg: The Death Star! Buddha: B-Dawg, it's the moon. It looks a lot bigger up here than when we used to howl at it from home. Budderball: Aw, goodness! All the blue cheese a fella can eat! [Budderball has been suited up and ready to repair the damage to the antenna] Spudnick: To control your movement, you have four small jets. Move your right hind leg, you go back. Move your left hind leg, you go forward. Wiggle your right front paw, you go left. Your left front paw, you go right. Look, you'll be tethered to the ship so you don't float off into outer space. Got it? Budderball: Uh, which one is my left paw again? B-Dawg: ...we're doomed... Budderball: What? It's not my fault I'm dyslexic! Mudbud: Just remember, your right back leg, you lift to take a wizzo. Left back, you use to scratch your tummy. Left front paw, you use to beg for food. And the right front paw, is for snackin'. Budderball: Okay, scratch, forward. Wizzo equals backwards. Begging, go right and snacking go left. See, I got it. [Budderball slams right onto the windshield] Buddha: In life, sometimes you're the bug, sometimes you're the windshield. Budderball: Did somebody catch the license plate on that UFO? [Budderball goes to activate his jets, but surprisingly... he doesn't move a single inch] Budderball: Guys, we have a problem. It's not working. B-Dawg: You've got to be kidding, dawg! Budderball: I swear. Cross my stomach and hope to starve! [Budderball sits and looks down at the broccoli that lays next to his seat] Budderball: I have never been so hungry... I think I might have to actually eat that broccoli to stay alive. [This causes Rosebud to look at her brother in surprise] Rosebud: Budderball? [Budderball pays the others no amount of attention as he opens the bag of green mush and begins to lap at it relentlessly] Budderball: This is good. [The others look at Budderball in bewilderment as he finishes the broccoli, and Mudbud is the only one to voice his surprise] Mudbud: Aw, dude, I can't believe you ate the whole thing. Budderball: [with green all over his muzzle] Well, I always said I'd eat broccoli when puppies fly. [Gravity runs over to the Buddies and Spudnick before he stands up to address them] Gravity: Welcome home, Buddies. Spudnick, that was some fancy seat-of-the-pants aviation you demonstrated. Rosebud: [in surprise] Whoa! You're a ferret? B-Dawg: Yo, dawg, you mean to tell me we had a rodent as our flight director? Gravity: Hey, I'm not a rodent. I'm related to the mustela family of mammals, which includes minks and skunks. Budderball: Hey, I'm told I'm related to skunks too.
