Quotes
Men often object to the condom because of its interference with sensation during coitus, comparing it to taking a shower in a raincoat. It cannot be put in place ahead of time, and sex play must be interrupted to apply it.
The Social Context of Marriage (Philadelphia and New York: J. B. Lippincott Co., 1967), p. 461. Same simile in John E. Eichenlaub, The Marriage Art (New York: Dell Publishing Co., 1961), p. 117: "Couples react differently to intercourse with a rubber in place. Some compare it to a shower in a raincoat. Others find it acceptable if somewhat muted."
