A Little Goes A Long Way.
Stuart Little
[when finding the toy airplane on the garbage barge] My... My plane. My plane! The silver lining! This is it!
[to Margalo, while fleeing from the Falcon] If we get out of this, I'm sticking to painting and dancing!
Oh, that's just how we greet each other.
We're gonna play like Brazilians!
Oh, dear.
Don't worry about Snowbell. He wouldn't hurt a fly.
She's in terrible trouble, and I have to help her. I mean, what am I, a man or a [pause] mouse?
Margalo
What the heck was that?
Hey, the way I see it, you're as big as you feel.
Don't hurt him, Falcon!
Snowbell, that's him!
I'm a bird. Instinct should take over.
We saved each other.
Go for it, kid. The adventure begins!
I'll miss you, Stuart.
They ain't got much. The mom's got a ring, but it's only two carrots.
Snowbell
[when asked to clean up Martha's spilled oatmeal] Oh, great. It's glop. Look what I'm reduced to. I'm a Handi-Wipe with hair!
[trying to keep up with Stuart in his car] Hey! Mario Andretti, slow down! Let's pace ourselves! I'm gonna have a heart attack! I think I'm having a thrombosis! And I don't even know what that means!
[after Stuart's car overheats] Oh, boy. This is a sign, Stuart. Like the burning bush...except it's a carburetor and I'm not Moses. But it's telling us something, let your people go.
Oh, why not? Giving up is fun! And look at all the time you save! I'm telling ya, Stuart; if more people gave up, there'd be fewer wars.
You've got guts, kid! Guts, and...and spunk! Not to mention moxie! You've got guts, spunk, and moxie!
I'll bet something terrible has happened. Oh, the Littles will kill me! I know, I'll bring home another mouse in a snazzy outfit, teach him to drive a sports car, and pass him off as Stuart! Oh, who am I kidding?! I have to get up there! But how? [cut to Snowbell being elevated upward on a window washing platform, nervously looking down at the street below] I hope I live to regret this... [whimpers]
Please, don't hurt me! Kill the bird, not me! I'M GONNA BE FALCON POOP!
[trying to get the Littles' attention] Ho little, hoo wittle, hey wattle...
Eleanor Little
He just looked so small out there. So... lacking in bigness. Does he really have to go back next week?
Well, why didn't he tell us?
Oh, but you did them last night.
Maybe she just went for a walk or a little flight around the neighborhood.
It's wrong to promise your brother that you'll lie to your parents.
[as Stuart crashes into the flowers] STUART!
Frederick Little
Yeah! What bothers me is that every kid's had a chance to play except Stuart.
Well, of course it is. But you know, Uncle Crenshaw says that every Little starts talking by 9 months.
George, I understand. I have a brother. But whatever I promised him, if he was in danger, that would matter more to me than the promise.
A little more than you're giving him now.
Is that a new top? You know, you--you have such taste. Simple elegance is what I call it.
George Little
Stuart, where are you? How are you? Are you all right? Did you find her? How's Snowbell? When are you coming home? Mom and Dad are asking a lot of questions.
He's at the Pishkin Building.
It says here, "On takeoff, pull back on the throttle".
Falcon
A mouse needs to know his limitations!
You should have stayed in your little hole, mouse boy.
Party's over, fur-face!
Monty
You don't wanna find him. You don't want anything to do with him. Trust me. He'd eat you so fast, you'd be a pile of falcon poop before you could yell for help. Falcons are vicious. They grab you by the back of the neck and carry you so high you can't even see the ground, and then they drop you. And by the time you hit the pavement, they just drink what's left through a straw.
Don't you threaten me! What I could tell the health inspector would close you down in a New York minute!
Pleeeeease?
[looking in a trash can] Can't I get a decent meal in this city?! [Falcon falls out of the sky screaming. He looks at Falcon as he falls in the trash can, then looks up at the sky happily] Thank you!
Will Powell
[when chasing Stuart's plane along with George] This is cool! All my brother does is jam crayons up his nose!
What are you going to do now?
Yeah, but now she wants to speak to my mom. What will I tell her?
We'll meet you there!
Hey, George, you wanna take a break for a while? I brought my PS2.
Now will you tell me what's going on?

Stuart: George, wake up. George!
George: It's Saturday.
Stuart: I know, but it's the first day of soccer. It's our first game.
George: Soccer? Uh, I can't today. I caught a cold while sleeping.
Stuart: You'll be fine. Come on, come on, it's gonna be great. We're gonna play like Brazilians.
Eleanor: Here you go.
Stuart: Thanks, Mom.
Eleanor: Stuart, don't forget your water bottle. George....
Frederick: Don't forget your cleats. [to Mrs. Little] You're looking especially beautiful today.
Eleanor: Well, some people just know how to wear oatmeal. Okay, open up.
Martha: Blah blah.
Eleanor: [surprised] Did you hear that? She said "Blah-blah"! I can't believe it! Her first word! Where's the baby book? I'm writing it down.
Frederick: I'm not sure that's technically, y'know, a word.
Eleanor: Of course it is! But your Uncle Crenshaw says that every Little starts talking by 9 months!
Frederick: In Uncle Crenshaw's case, never stops.
Stuart: Are you both coming to the game?
Frederick: Wouldn't miss it.
Eleanor: Frederick, this soccer game is making me very....
Frederick: Proud?
Eleanor: Anxious... especially about...
Stuart: I'm fine.
Frederick: He's fine.
Eleanor: All those boys stomping around with cleats. What if someone...?
Frederick: Oh, honey. He's a Little. All Littles are natural athletes.
Eleanor: Do you need....
Frederick: Could you?
Eleanor: Uhh. Okay, that's it for you. Snow, food!
Snowbell: Food?! Is it tuna, or herring? Oh, oh, or dare I say it... is it lox? Ohhhh! Please be lox!
Eleanor: Snow! that's for you.
Frederick: How about it, boys? Are we ready to play some soccer?
Stuart: You bet, Dad.
Snowbell: [sarcastic when asked to clean up Martha's spilled oatmeal] Oh, great. It's glop. Look what I'm reduced to. I'm a Handi-Wipe with hair!
Soccer Coach: Wallace! Get up! There we go! That's right! Dig! Dig! Go downfield! Downfield! You guys, spread out! Spread out!
Eleanor: Well, George is getting a workout.
Frederick: Yeah! What bothers me is that every kid's had a chance to play except Stuart.
Eleanor: There's plenty of time.
Frederick: Plenty of time? Honey, there's 40 seconds.
Eleanor: You know, he did an excellent job of handing out the orange slices, and that's not as easy as it looks. All right, I admit it. I'm glad he's not in the game. I don't want him to get hurt.
Frederick: Honey, it's Pee-Wee soccer. Nobody gets hurt.
Player: Irwin, are you okay?
Soccer Coach: Are you all right, Irwin?
Irwin: Do I look all right?
Soccer Coach: Here. Come on.
Referee: Better substitute.
Soccer Coach: Tie game. Well, we could play with just 10.
Wallace: But we have George, so it's like having nine.
Soccer Coach: Wallace, we'll have none of that.
Referee: Come on, coach.
Soccer Coach: Stuart! Go in for Irwin!
Stuart: Mom, Dad! I'm going in!
Frederick: Yeah, Stuart!
Eleanor: Oh, dear.
Soccer Coach: All right, Stuart, I want you to watch your tail out there.
Stuart: Don't worry, coach, I won't let ya down.
Soccer Coach: Now go get 'em.
Player: Let's go, let's go! Come on!
Stuart: Over here! I'm open! I got it, I got it! I got it!
Eleanor: I'm going down there and snatch him off the field.
Frederick: Honey, honey. Knowing boys as I do, I think he might find that just a little...
Eleanor: Embarrassing.
Soccer Coach: Get it, George! Go after it!
Wallace: Pass me the ball, lame-o! Come on!
Soccer Coach: George, shoot!
Stuart: I got it! I got it!
Soccer Coach: SHOOT!
Stuart: I got it! I got it!
Player: Yeah, I did it!
Stuart: I have to start wearing a cup.
Eleanor: He just looked so small out there. So... lacking in bigness. Does he really have to go back next week?
Frederick: Honey, we have to give him room to grow.
Eleanor: I give him room to grow. I let him slice his own banana.
Frederick: With a spoon.
Eleanor: I let him drive his car to school. No other mother does that.
Frederick: With George walking right beside him every step of the way.
Eleanor: Well, how much more room do I have to give him?
Frederick: A little more than you're giving him now.
Stuart: Maybe Mom was right. Maybe I shouldn't be playing soccer anymore.
George: Well, what does she want you to go out for?
Stuart: Painting or dancing.
George: I guess it's my fault. I'm sorry I kicked you into the goal.
Stuart: That's okay. Hey, you won the game. That's the main thing.
George: No. The main thing is I hit Wallace in the face.
Stuart: Bogeys, 12:00! I got him, Brooklyn! Yeah! Wouldn't it be cool if I actually flew this thing?
George: Yeah. There's only one problem.
Both: Mom.
Will: Hello, Mrs. Little.
Eleanor: Hi, Will.
Will: Is George home?
Eleanor: He's in with Stuart.
Stuart: All we need to do is tighten her up and she's ready to fly.
Will: Hi, George. Hi, Stuart.
George: Hi, Will.
Stuart: Hi.
Will: Hey, George, you wanna take a break for a while? I brought my PS2.
George: Yeah, okay.
Stuart: But, what about the plane?
George: I wanna play with Will for a while.
Will: Play with Snowbell.
Snowbell: [singing] One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do.
Stuart: Oh, well. Guess I'll have to finish it myself. If I can just... Oh dear.
Will: Hey, what's that noise?
George: Sounds like a lawnmower.
Will: Inside the house?
Both: [alarmed] Stuart!
Stuart: Whoa!
George: Stuart! What are you doing?!
Stuart: I'm not doing anything!
George: Pull the brake!
Stuart: Get the book!
Will: This is cool. All my brother does is jam crayons up his nose!
George: It says, "On takeoff, pull back on the throttle."
Stuart: Takeoff?! I'm in the air! Snowbell, get outta the way!
Snowbell: Aahhh! Please, don't hurt me!
Frederick: What's going on?
Will: Oh, nothing. Stuart's just flying in the house.
Frederick: [alarmed] Flying in the house?!
George: At least he's indoors; nothing bad can happen.
Stuart: Watch out! Hit the dirt!
Eleanor: Stuart!
Stuart: Duck!
Eleanor: Stuart! Stuart! Are you all right?
Frederick: Are you okay?
Stuart: I'm-I'm, uh, I'm okay. E-Everything's fine.
George: [upset] Fine? Stuart, you destroyed it!
Stuart: [dejectedly] Ohh, I'm sorry I wrecked it, George.
Frederick: No, no-no, I-I'm sure with some glue, we can fix this.
Eleanor: No, we can't. That's going in the trash. It's much too dangerous.
George: [upset] Thanks, Stuart.
Frederick: Honey, why don't you take the boys home? I think Stuart and I need to have a little talk.
Eleanor: Good idea. Come on, boys. Let's go home.
Stuart: She treats me like a baby.
Eleanor: I'm gonna fix you both some lunch.
Frederick: She just loves you so much. It's hard for her to think of you in danger.
Stuart: Oh, this has been a bad day. Mom's mad, George doesn't wanna play with me....
Frederick: I know. But every cloud has a silver lining.
Stuart: Doesn't that make them kind of heavy?
Frederick: No, it's an expression, Stuart. You see, the thing about being a Little is that you can look at any situation, no matter how bleak, how hopeless... and still see the bright side. The silver lining.
Stuart: Like in this situation, the silver lining would be... help me, Dad, because I'm struggling.
Frederick: George has found a new friend. That means you could find a new friend too.
Stuart: You're a lot better at this than I am.
Frederick: I've been a Little a lot longer than you have. Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. In the meantime, keep your chin up, your back straight, and your heart open.
Stuart: Then what?
Frederick: One step at a time.
Teacher: And Canada is separate from the United States, because Canadians like to be alone. Review tomorrow, test on Friday. And please take your leftover lunches with you. My husband is tired of me coming home smelling like salami.
Stuart: Hey Tony, would you like to come over to my house this afternoon?
Tony: Sorry, pal. I've got karate.
Stuart: Hey, Mark.
Mark: Guitar lessons.
Gilbert O'Sullivan: [singing] In a little while from now / If I'm not feeling any less sour / I promise myself to treat myself / And visit a nearby tower
George: Hey Stuart, some of the guys are going over to Will's house to play basketball for a while.
Stuart: Can I come?
George: They didn't exactly mention that you were invited.
Stuart: Oh, that's okay. I'm busy anyway.
George: Just tell Mom I walked you home, okay? I owe you one.
Stuart: Sure.
Gilbert O'Sullivan: [singing] Where people saying, My God, that's tough / She stood him up / No point in us remaining / We may as well go home / As I did on my own / Alone again, naturally
Stuart: Whoa! Miss? Miss? Are you alive? She's alive! Outta the way, please, outta the way. Injured bird coming through!
Margalo: What's going on? Ow! My wing. Where am I? Hey! Hey, where's the falcon?!
Stuart: Falcon? What-what falcon?
Margalo: That falcon! Drive! Get outta here!
Stuart: Oh, my!
Margalo: Hey! Get lost, you disgusting vulture! Eat my feathers, you vile buzzard!
Stuart: Do we really wanna antagonize him? Oh, boy, we've got a problem.
Margalo: No, you can make it. Don't slow down.
[After Stuart drives in his small car away from a falcon with Margalo, a yellow canary wearing a bomber helmet and a scarf, in the car]
Margalo: You did it!
Stuart: Yeah. I did.
Margalo: So, who do I have to thank?
Stuart: Oh! Ahem. Forgive me. Uh, my name is Stuart. Stuart Little.
Margalo: I'm Margalo. Just Margalo.
Stuart: Margalo.
Margalo: You're so strong. Are you an athlete?
Stuart: Uh, well, yeah. I play a little soccer, fly airplanes, race boats.
Margalo: You can put me down now. My legs are fine. It's my wing that's hurt.
Stuart: Oh. Yeah... of course. There used to be bandages in here. Hmm... Hey, why don't we try your scarf?
Margalo: Good idea. My pin, it's... Must've happened when that falcon smashed into me. It was part of our nest when I was a baby. I've had it my whole life. It's the only thing I have left of my mother's.
Stuart: Aw, gee, that's too bad.
Margalo: Yeah.
Stuart: There. How's that?
Margalo: That's much better. Thank you. So tell me, Stuart Little, do you actually live here?
Stuart: Oh yeah. I'm a real Little. I'm the middle child. The middle Little.
Margalo: Cute.
Stuart: So, where do you live?
Margalo: You know, here and there.
Stuart: Wait a minute. You mean you don't have a home?
Margalo: Once. We lived in a box. Well, not really a box. It was one of those things where people keep their jewelry, you know?
Stuart: A jewelry box?
Margalo: Yes! That's what it must have been, a jewelry box. It was wonderful. Well, I've taken too much of your time. I'd better go before it gets dark.
Stuart: No-no, wait. You can't go out there. Not while you're hurt. You should stay here.
Margalo: Oh, I couldn't impose. I mean, you'd really do that for me?
Stuart: Sure, I have just the thing. I'll be right back. Meanwhile, you can use my cat's bed.
Margalo: You have a cat?!
Stuart: Oh, don't worry about Snowbell. He wouldn't hurt a fly.
[Outside, Snowbell catches a fly and eats it]
Snowbell: [burps] Whoa, those flies really come back on you. [goes back into the house] Uhh. I try to eat right, and yet, I still feel bloated. Hm. Maybe more food'll help. [eats from his food bowl]
Margalo: Hi, there. [Snowbell screams in alarm] Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you.
Snowbell: Scare me? That's a laugh! [laughs] Hear that? That was a laugh. [hisses at Margalo, and coughs] Hairball! Major hairball! Ugh! And yet, we continue to lick ourselves. Unbelievable.
Stuart: Hey, Snowbell. Meet Margalo. She's gonna be staying with us for a while.
Snowbell: Staying?! Are you out of your mind?! Stuart, you can't just drag stray birds in here! What do you think this is, a halfway house?! Look at her, she's filthy! No offense. She could have germs! And how do you know she's not a vagrant or a thief?! Get rid of her!
Eleanor: [off-screen] Hi, we're home! Sorry we're late.
Stuart: Little high, little low!
Eleanor: [off-screen] Little hey, little ho!
Margalo: What the heck was that?
Stuart Little: Oh, that's just how we greet each other.
Margalo: Interesting.
Snowbell: Nauseating is more like it. You're in for it now, missy! Oh, Mother Little hates when animals walk in here off the street. When she sees this, she's gonna throw a fit!
Eleanor: [walks in, crouches down, and gently picks up Margalo; softly] Oh! Such a pretty little birdie!
Snowbell: [walking out of the room] Maybe it's just my friends she hates.
Margalo: Found me? He did more than that. He saved my life.
Eleanor: He did?
Margalo: From a falcon.
Frederick: What was that?
Eleanor: Stuart saved this little bird from a falcon.
Frederick: A falcon? They are fierce creatures.
Eleanor: Well, why does the city have falcons? That shouldn't be allowed. Write a letter.
Frederick: On the other hand, we have a hero here. Way to go, Stuart.
Stuart: Hey, Dad.
Frederick: What?
Stuart: [whispers] Silver lining.
Frederick: It's a guy thing.
Eleanor: Is it? Isn't it nice that Stuart has a friend?
Frederick: Well, I don't think Stuart thinks of her as a friend.
Eleanor: What do you mean?
Frederick: I mean, he's smitten. He's infatuated. He's bedazzled.
Eleanor: Stuart?
Frederick: Mm-hmm.
Eleanor: But he's a baby!
Frederick: Well, boys start having crushes really young.
Eleanor: Frederick, did you have many crushes?
Frederick: [smiling] I'm still having one.
Stuart: So, Margalo, can I get you anything else? Whip ya up an omelet? Pop you a tart?
Margalo: Stuart, I'm full.
Stuart: Full? You eat like a bird.
Eleanor: Come on, Stuart, time for school.
Stuart: Oh, I'm not going to school today. I'm staying home to take care of Margalo.
Eleanor: Well, guess again. You are going to school, and I will take care of Margalo. And look both ways when you cross the street, and wear your galoshes, and in art class, don't run with scissors. I'll get your backpack.
Stuart: Mothers... You know.
Margalo: Well, I don't really know.
Stuart: No?
Margalo: See, my mom just kinda one day... wasn't there anymore.
Stuart: Ohh. So you've been completely on your own all your life?
Margalo: You bet.
Stuart: I'll bet it's been scary.
Margalo: No. It's been an adventure.
Stuart: I wish I had some adventures. I'm only allowed to paint.
Margalo: Hey, life is an adventure. Just walking out that door is an adventure.
George: Come on, Stu. We're late.
Margalo: Go for it, kid. The adventure begins!
Stuart: Whew! That feels like enough adventure for one day. Hey, look! The Yankees won.
Eleanor: There we go. Can you say, "Walk with Mommy"? "Mommy"? "Walk"? Hm. Nothing.
[?]
Eleanor: Margalo, Martha and I are going out for a bit. Can I bring you anything?
Margalo: No thanks.
Eleanor: Say "Bye-bye, birdie." Say "Bye-bye." Martha. Say "Bye-bye, birdie."
Margalo: Ahh... fresh air.
[The falcon lands behind Margalo, stomping his feet loud enough to startle her]
Falcon: Remember me?
Margalo: You scared me.
Falcon: What can I say? I'm a scary guy. So, Margalo, what's going on here? You case the joint? Any valuables? Come on, thrill me, chill me.
Margalo: They ain't got much. The mom's got a ring, but it's only two carrots.
Falcon: All right, okay, fine. So, what else have they got?
Margalo: [nervously] Well, you know, not that much. I mean, they mostly just have...each other.
Falcon: [sarcastic] Awww. A moment while I vomit.
Margalo: Why don't we just try somewhere else?
Falcon: Why? Because you're set up here! They trust you, they like you... [smiles slyly] ahh, and maybe, you like them? [Margalo scoffs and tries to fly away, but he follows her] Hey, Margalo, come on, huh? [chuckles] Don't con a conman.
Margalo: Well, nobody else ever invited me to live with them.
Falcon: Oh, really? Who found a pitiful orphaned bird, and plucked her out of the gutter? Who shared his food with her? And, I hasten to add, taught her a trade? Who?
Margalo: [humbly] You did.
Falcon: I did, right! [sternly] Well, then, straighten up and fly right. And remember, you are here on business. You're not here to play around! [flies away]
Margalo: Come on, Falcon. When I'm on a job, I never play around.
Mandy Moore: [singing] For a time, I thought my faith / It must be hiding… / Searching through the sky, / Hoping to find the way, a way / To get me through the day / When the way I belong, / Is this where I should stay? / Lift me up when I am falling / Put my flair when I was calling / Now I’m on top of the world, / On top of the whole wide world / Ya, you’ve always been believing / Give my life a whole new meaning / Now I’m on top of the world / On top of the whole wide world / It’s threaten to be when it seems, / I had forgot to… / Now I, realize the day, / I’m starting to dream again, again / Wasn’t matter of when? / I guest we all lose a way now and then / You lift me up when I am falling / Put my flair when I was calling / Now I’m top of the world / On top of the whole wide world / Ya, you’ve always been believing / Give my life a whole new meaning / Now I’m on top of the world / On top of the whole wide world
Stuart: Are you cold?
Margalo: Uh-uh.
Stuart: I guess when the weather gets too cold, you'll just... fly south for the winter?
Margalo: Well, to tell you the truth, I've never flown south. It's kind of a dream of mine. Get out of this cold, windy city, catch that jet stream.... Fruit trees, millions of new birds to meet. I hear it's paradise.
Stuart: Then how come you haven't gone?
Margalo: Oh, something's always stopping me.
Stuart: Yeah. Something's always stopping me, too. Everybody around here thinks I'm too small to accomplish anything.
Margalo: Hey, the way I see it, you're as big as you feel.
Stuart: Yeah. Boy, I'm really glad you fell into my car. I mean, you know... I mean I'm not glad you fell. I-I-I just... Want some more popcorn?
Margalo: Okay.
[As she reaches one, the pin can be seen inside the popcorn bag. Margalo pulled it out and noticed something different.]
Margalo: What? My pin! It's fixed! How--
Stuart: You know, on my way home from school, I drive right past the place where you crashed, and... t was no big deal. I mean, there was finding it... ... figuring out how the pieces fit together... ... and, uh, you know, fixing it. And no... big deal. Just...
Madeleine (on TV): Oh, Scottie.
Stuart: ... one, two, three... good as new.
Margalo: No, Stuart, it's not. It's much, much better.
[Margalo is taking a bath, but Falcon drops in and scares her]
Falcon: Did you really think I wouldn't find out?
Margalo: What are you talking about?
Falcon: I'm talking about you, and your little mouse friend. Big mistake. Never make a friend I can eat. Now get me that ring! Or the mouse...is lunch.
Frederick: I'll do the dishes.
Eleanor: Oh, but you did them last night.
Frederick: For you, I would do dishes every night. That way, I don't have to change the baby.
Eleanor: She just dropped her dolly. I'll just... Frederick!
Frederick: What?
Eleanor: My ring. It's gone!
Frederick: What do you mean "it's gone"?
Eleanor: What do you mean "it's gone"? It's gone!
Frederick: Are you absolutely...
Eleanor: Positive. Unless... I'll call the plumber!
George: What's going on?
Frederick: Mom's ring went down the drain. I-I can't reach it.
Stuart: Hey! Hey, what about me? I can do it. Let me go, Dad.
Frederick: Go where?
Stuart: Down the drain. I can bring it back up. It's an adventure.
Frederick: I don't know, Stuart. It's awfully dark down there.
George: And smelly, and cold.
Stuart: But it's Mom's ring. She loves that ring. Come on, Dad. Let me try.
Frederick: Okay. Now... if it gets too cold, or too scary... you just tell us.
Stuart: Don't worry, Dad. I can handle it.
Frederick: Or yank on the string, we'll pull you right up.
Stuart: Will do.
[Stuart held up his flashlight as Mr. Little lowered the string down the drain.]
Frederick: How's it so far?
Stuart: Wet. There's a lot of slimy stuff all over the walls.
George: What does it look like?
Stuart: Like the inside of your nose!
Frederick: Can you see the bottom yet?
Stuart: No, just more pipe. And--and everything we ate for dinner last week. And the pipe just seems to go on and on and on!
Eleanor: Well, the plumber said... What's going on?
Frederick: Is that a new top? You know, you--you have such taste. Simple elegance is what I call it.
Eleanor: What's on the other end of that string?
Frederick: Oh, this string?
Eleanor: Yes.
Frederick: Well, now, don't get excited, but... someone that you and I love, has volunteered to go down the drain to get your ring.
Eleanor: Stuart?
George: Good guess, Mom.
Eleanor: [shocked] Stuart?! You let our son go down the kitchen drain?!
Frederick: Now, Eleanor, don't--don't be upset. It's all been well thought out. If there's a problem, I simply pull on the string and...
[The string snaps, much to Mrs. Little's shock]
Frederick: Now you can be upset.
Eleanor: Stuart!
Frederick: Stuart! Are you okay? Can you hear me?
Stuart: Hurry! I--I'm slipping!
Eleanor: Get more string!
Frederick: Great.
[They started to look around for something to pull Stuart out of the drain as Margalo was outside, looking forlorn as she held the ring that she had took.]
Eleanor: There's gotta be string around here someplace.
George: There is no more!
Eleanor: Well, what else can we use as string?
George: Spaghetti?
Eleanor: We're out of spaghetti.
Frederick: Well, do we have macaroni?
Eleanor: But that's too short!
Frederick: We can tie it together with...
Eleanor: No!
Stuart: [from insde the drain] Hurry!
Frederick: Hang on, Stuart!
[Margalo flies in and snatched the necklace off of Mrs. Little's neck to use it to get Stuart out.]
Eleanor: Margalo, what are you doing?
Margalo: Stuart, I'm coming! Here, grab on!
Stuart: Lower, lower! I got it!
Eleanor: Are you all right?
Frederick: Are you hurt?
Eleanor: Don't scare me like that.
Stuart: Margalo... you're the best friend I ever had.
Eleanor: What if someone had accidentally turned on the garbage disposal while he was down there? What about that?
Frederick: I would not have let that happen.
Eleanor: You let him go down the drain.
Frederick: He wanted to go.
Eleanor: If Martha wanted to go up the chimney or George wanted to go into the toilet, would you let them?
Frederick: Eleanor, I love Stuart as much as you do. I just don't happen to be quite as...
Eleanor: Emotional? Irrational? What were you gonna say?
Frederick: I forget.
Eleanor: I know I'm being overprotective, it's just... I can't stand the idea of Stuart getting hurt.
Margalo: I'm sorry, Stuart.
[Margalo flies away]
Stuart: What?
Rob the Plumber: You people sure like your meat loaf.
Frederick: You find the ring?
Rob the Plumber: Everything but.
Stuart: Hey, has anyone seen Margalo? I can't find her anywhere.
Eleanor: Maybe she just went for a walk or a little flight around the neighborhood.
Frederick: Sure, you know, to strengthen her wing.
Stuart: Yeah, maybe. But why'd she leave me her pin?
Eleanor: Oh, you know, Stuart... Margalo is kind of a free spirit. Maybe she just felt it was time to go.
Stuart: Without even saying goodbye?
George: What are you doing?
Stuart: I think I know what happened. I think that falcon got her.
George: Yeah?
Stuart: I'm gonna find her. And don't try to talk me out of it, because I've made up my mind.
George: Are you crazy? You can't go out there!
Stuart: What, you mean because I'm too small? Well - let me tell you something, George, you're as big as you feel.
George: All right, well, then let me come with you.
Stuart: No, I need you to stay and cover for me.
George: Cover for you? How?
Stuart: Well, make something up. You're smart.
George: Stuart, she's just a bird.
Stuart: No, George, she's my friend! And when you're friends with Stuart Little, you're friends for life.
George: Well, if you won't let me come, at least get somebody to go with you.
[Snowbell is sleeping, and Stuart wakes him up, and asks him to join his search in finding Margalo]
Stuart: [whispers] Snow? Snowbell?
Snowbell: [screaming] The good silverware is in the dining room! Take whatever you want, but don't hurt me!
Stuart: It's me, Stuart.
Snowbell: Oh, you. This better be important.
Stuart: Margalo's still missing.
Snowbell: I should have been more specific. I meant "important to me"!
Stuart: I was going to go look for her, and I was hoping that you could come with me.
Snowbell: Look, Stuart. Do yourself a favor. Buy a parakeet and forget her.
Stuart: I can't forget her! She's in terrible trouble, and I have to help her! I mean, what am I, a man or a...mouse?
Snowbell: Uh, is that a trick question?
Stuart: Come on, it's important, you gotta help me.
Snowbell: Mmm-hmm, and, uh, why would I do that?
Stuart: Well, because we're family, and, and because, I'd do the same for you. And because if you don't, and the Littles ask where I've gone, George is gonna tell them that you ate me.
Snowbell: [outraged] WHAT?! Why, you little rat! Ooh! You know something? Everybody thinks you're so nice. You're not so nice!
Stuart: Come on! It'll be fun. It's an adventure.
Snowbell: [trying to keep with Stuart in his car] Hey! Mario Andretti, slow down! Let's pace ourselves! I'm gonna have a heart attack! I think I'm having a thrombosis! And I don't even know what it means!
Frederick: George! Stuart! Breakfast! Get it while it's hot.
Eleanor: Say, "Mama." Say, "Dada." Say... anything?
Frederick: Morning, George.
Eleanor: Where's Stuart?
George: He already left.
Eleanor: He did? Without eating breakfast?
George: He had to get to school early... because he's in a school play.
Eleanor: Really?
George: Yes. He plays a mouse. And they rehearse every morning before school.
Eleanor: Well, why didn't he tell us?
George: He forgot. You know, being worried about Margalo.
Frederick: Right.
Eleanor: Well, good. This'll keep his mind off it.
George: Gotta go.
Eleanor: Say, "Oatmeal."
Snowbell: [after Stuart's car overheats] Oh, boy. This is a sign, Stuart. Like the burning bush…expect it's a carburetor and I'm not Moses. But it's telling us something, let your people go.
Stuart: We're not giving up.
Snowbell: Oh, why not? Giving up is fun! And look at all the time you save! I'm telling you, Stuart; if more people gave up, there'd be fewer wars.
Eleanor: George.
George: Hi, Mom.
Eleanor: Hi. Where's Stuart?
George: You mean he's not home? Oh, I just remembered. He told me to tell you that he's rehearsing again. At Will's house. And he's sleeping over there tonight.
Eleanor: Sleepover? On a school night?
George: Hey, that's what he said. Gotta go.
Will: Hello?
George: Hey, Will. It's me, George. If my mom calls, Stuart's at your house, okay?
Will: Huh? Hold on a second. Hello?
Eleanor: Will, hi. It's Mrs. Little. May I speak with Stuart, please?
Will: Stuart?
Eleanor: You know, my son.
Will: Oh, Stuart! You mean now?
Eleanor: Well, now is when I'm calling.
Will: Oh, uh, he just went in the bathroom. I think he's gonna be a while. He brought a magazine.
Eleanor: Well then, is your mother there?
Will: Hold on a second. I told her.
George: Did she buy it?
Will: Yeah, but now she wants to speak to my mom. What will I tell her?
George: Make something up. You're smart.
Will: If I was smart, I wouldn't be in this situation. She can't come to the phone right now. She's in the bathroom, too. Um, but not the same bathroom!
Eleanor: Just let her know I called.
Will: Okay, Mrs. Little.
Eleanor: Thanks.
Will: It's all clear.
George: I owe you one.
Will: Now will you tell me what's going on?
George: It's too complicated. Later.
Frederick: Little hi, Little low!
Eleanor: Little hey, Little ho.
Frederick: Boys home?
Eleanor: Well, George is. But Stuart is rehearsing his play, and then he's sleeping over at Will's house.
Frederick: He's going without George?
Eleanor: Well, I think it'll give him room to grow.
Snowbell: Ohh, Stuart, we've been walking for hours. I can't take another step. You know me, I hate to be negative, but when I walk this much, I chafe! Also, I...I hate to bring this up, but...I need to go tinky!
Stuart: How about the alley?
Snowbell: I'm a house cat. We're fastidious creatures! We don't just yell "BOMBS AWAY!", and go wherever we are! Oh, look, let's face it, we're never gonna find her!
Stuart: If only we knew someone who really knew the city.
Snowbell: Yeah, somebody who knows the city's disgusting underbelly. Who do I know that's disgusting?
[Scene cuts to Monty being thrown out of a Chinese restaurant and into a dumpster]
Chinese Restaurant Owner: [to Monty, in Chinese] Nǐ zàilái zhèlǐ, wǒ huì tōngguò Visa jīqì lái guǎnlǐ nǐ de! [Translation: You come back here again, I'll run you through the Visa machine!] [brushes his hands and tell his workers in Chinese to get back to work and closes the door]
Monty: Don't you threaten me! What I could tell the health inspector would close you down in a New York minute!
Snowbell: [off-screen] Hey, Monty!
Monty: [sees Snowbell] Snowbell! He-hey! He-hey! Snowbell! What are you doing here?
Snowbell: We've been looking all over for you.
Stuart: We need your help.
Monty: Hey, Snow, buddy, are you two still friends, or can I eat him?
Snowbell: No, Monty, you can't eat him.
Monty: [pleading] Please?
Snowbell: [strictly] No! Now pay attention. What do you know about a bird called Falcon?
Monty: "Falcon"? Ohh, that's a bad guy, you don't wanna fool with him.
Stuart: Do you know where we can find him?
Monty: You don't wanna find him. You don't want anything to do with him. Trust me! He'd eat you so fast, you'd be a pile of falcon poop before you could yell for help! Falcons are vicious! They grab you by the back of the neck and carry you so high you can't even see the ground, and then they drop ya, and by the time you hit the pavement, they just drink what's left through a straw!
Stuart: Snowbell, are you alright?
Snowbell: [looking terrified] Oh, yeah. In fact, good news: I no longer need a litter box.
Monty: [guffaws loudly] Mop-up on Aisle 3! [laughs] Snowie!
Snowbell: Stu, listen. This whole thing has been a groove and a gas, but it's important to know when the fun's over. You don't want to be that last, pathetic person who leaves a party!
Stuart: I told you, I'm not giving up! We're gonna find the Falcon.
Monty: Well, all right then, it's your funeral. Okay, listen. Listen carefully. The Falcon lives across the park at the very tip-top of the Pishkin Building. Not many people go up there... and even fewer return.
Stuart: Well, here we are, Snowbell. This is it. Snowbell?
[Snowbell looks at a restaurant menu]
Snowbell: Salmon, catfish, tuna...Why do they taunt me?
Stuart: Snowbell, how can you think of food at a time like this? Stay on track, will you?
Snowbell: Look, I'm nervous. When I'm nervous, I eat. Because I know, in my growling gut, that if anything happens to you, I'll be blamed! I'm sure the Littles already know we're gone and are planning to replace me with a hamster!
Stuart: Don't worry. George has us covered.
Snowbell: George?! George doesn't know poop from applesauce! And I say that with a great deal of affection.
George: Hello, Little residence.
Stuart: Oh, George. I'm glad you answered.
George: Who is it? Can you speak louder, please?
Stuart: George, it's me, Stuart.
George: Stuart, where are you? How are you? Did you find her? Are you all right? How's Snowbell? When'll you be home? Mom and Dad are asking lots of questions.
Stuart: So are you. I only have a second. I just want you to know that we're on the trail and with any luck at all, we'll be home by dinner time. And George.
George: Yeah?
Stuart: Thanks for covering for me.
George: Sure. But where are you?
Stuart: Now listen closely. We're at the Pishkin Building.
Phone Voice: Please deposit $0.35 for the next five minutes.
Stuart: [using a pay phone] Snowbell, I need more change.
Snowbell: What do I look like, a fanny pack?
George: Stuart, Stuart, are you still there?
Eleanor: George, is that Stuart?
George: Let me think. Yeah.
Eleanor: Well, where is he? I thought he was coming home.
George: He is. Later. He and Will just need to rehearse some more. In fact, I just left him at Will's.
Will: Hello, Mrs. Little. Is George home?
George: Will, I found it!
Will: Found what?
George: The calculator.
Will: The calculator?
Eleanor: Will, where's Stuart?
Will: Stuart?
George: It's all right. She knows about the play. It's supposed to be a surprise. I had to tell her so she'd know Stuart's at your house. We're going back over there.
Will: Oh, yeah. Right. It's going to be great.I just need to get the calculator?
:George: To figure out how long to rehearse. Will: It's a very complicated play.George: Come on. Let's go.Will: See you later, Mrs. Little.Eleanor: George, don't forget you two have a soccer game later. Will: We'll meet you there!George: I can't handle this. I'm too stressed. All this lying. I've never lied before. Will: That's why she believes you.George: Boy, are we in trouble. Will: "We"?George: Yeah, "we." He didn't spend the night rehearsing at my house.Snowbell: What are you planning to do, Mighty Mouse? Scale the wall?Stuart: I'll think of something. So long, Snowbell!Snowbell: You've got guts, kid. Guts and... and spunk. Not to mention moxie. You've got guts, spunk and moxie!Stuart: Okay. Here we go. All right, Falcon. Hand her over and nobody gets hurt.
[Stuart reaches Falcon's lair at the top of the Pishkin Building]Stuart: Margalo? Margalo? You up here? Is anybody here?Falcon: [flying in] I'm here.Stuart: [aims his bow and arrow at Falcon] I came for my friend Margalo. If you've hurt her, I'll...Falcon: You'll what?Stuart: You better tell me right now. Is she all right?Falcon: Why don't you ask her yourself, Whiskers? Margalo?
[Margalo appears sadly behind Stuart]Stuart: Margalo. Margalo, run! Fly away while I've got him covered. What are you waiting for?!
[Margalo just gives a sad look]Falcon: Oh, this kid's priceless. Tell me, cheese-face, does any of this sound familiar? "Oh, my wing. Ow, I don't think I can fly."Stuart: [confused] What are you talking about?Falcon: I can't drill through the wood. She scammed you, okay? She played you like a harp.Stuart: [heartbroken] Margalo, what does he mean?Falcon: Okay, now it's getting sad. Maybe this will clear things up. [holds Mrs. Little's ring in his talons]Stuart: [shocked] My mom's ring.Margalo: I'm so sorry. I never wanted to hurt you.Stuart: But, Margalo, why?Falcon: Don't be upset, mouse boy. She has conned smarter than you. Or did you think you were special? A real friend?Margalo: I didn't lie about that, Stuart. You are my friend.Stuart: Then come with me.Falcon: [grabs Stuart with his talons] She's not going anywhere!Stuart: Oh, yes, she is! [fires his arrow at Falcon's beak with no effect]Falcon: [glares at Stuart] Was that your best shot? Now, let me show you mine. [carries Stuart out of his lair]Margalo: Don't hurt him, Falcon!Falcon: I won't hurt him! THE SIDEWALK WILL!Stuart: Can't we talk this over? [Falcon drops him, sending him falling towards the streets below while screaming]Margalo: [racing after him] No, Stuart! [tries to save Stuart, but Falcon snatches her up and takes her back inside the building] Let me go! No, Falcon! NO![Meanwhile, Stuart lands unharmed, albeit unconscious, in a passing garbage truck]Falcon: A few days in here should provide you with an attitude adjustment.Margalo: [crying] Stuart... what have I done?Snowbell: Oh, I'll bet something terrible has happened. Oh, the Littles will kill me. Oh, I know, I'll bring home another mouse in a snazzy outfit, teach him to drive a sports car, and pass him off as Stuart. Oh, who am I kidding? I have to get up there. But how? I hope I live to regret this… Ohhh! [entering Falcon's lair] Stuart? Yoo-hoo! Stuart? Come out, come out, wherever you are. Please don't jump out from behind anything. Remember, I... I have a strong stomach, but a very weak heart. Here, mousy, mousy...Margalo: [hearing him from inside a paint can where Falcon has her imprisoned] Snowbell? Is that you? Is that really you?Snowbell: Margalo? Where are you?Margalo: In the can!Snowbell: Oh. Okay, I'll wait.Margalo: No! In-- In the paint can.Snowbell: [getting the idea] Ohhhh. Why are you in there? Is this some kind of trick?Margalo: Just get me out!Snowbell: Is Stuart in there, too?Margalo: [sadly] No, Snowbell, he's dead.Snowbell: [shocked] What? Stuart is dead?Margalo: Falcon killed him.Snowbell: [saddened] No. He can't be, he's...I, I was supposed to protect him! Ohh! I wish it was me who'd been killed!Margalo: Really?Snowbell: No, but I am very unhappy! [cries in regret]Stuart: Ah. Oh dear. I'm been dumped on a boat. On a garbage barge. I gotta get off. Hello! Hello there! I'm over here! I'm on the barge! Can't you hear me?! Help! I'm not supposed to be here! I need to get off! Help me! Help!Eleanor: Rita, hi. I was in the neighborhood, so I thought I'd pick up the boys.Rita: George and Will?Eleanor: George and Stuart.Rita: [confused] Well - George is here, but I haven't seen Stuart.Eleanor: But, he slept over here last night.Rita: No.Eleanor: [appalled] George![Eleanor has just found out George lied to her about where Stuart is]Will: What are you going to do now?George: Which way's Canada?Stuart: This is terrible. I just wanna go home. I know a Little is supposed to always see a silver lining. Maybe this means I'm not really a Little. Maybe I'm just Stuart... Nobody. Stuart Nothing. [sobs] There is'' no silver lining! Oh, no. What have I done?! My... my-my plane. My plane! The silver lining! This is it!
[Eleanor and Frederick confront George about Stuart's whereabouts, having realized that he has lied to them]Eleanor: All right, George, where is he?Frederick: And this time; the truth.George: I'm not sure.Frederick: [sternly] George, it is never okay to lie to your parents.George: But is it okay to break a promise to your brother?Eleanor: It's wrong to promise your brother that you'll lie to your parents!Frederick: George, listen to the tone of my voice. I want you to tell us where Stuart is.George: But it was a promise, brother to brother!Frederick: George, I understand. I have a brother. But whatever I promised him, if he was in danger, that would matter more to me than the promise.Eleanor: George, how would you feel? How would we all feel if anything happened to Stuart?
[Pause]George: [giving in] He's at the Pishkin Building. [as they all prepare to leave and find Stuart] Dad?Frederick: What?George: Am I in trouble?Frederick: No, son. You're in big trouble.
[George cringes when he hears this]Chantal Kreviazuk: [singing] Look around but don't look down / Everything is unfamiliar waiting to be found / Look ahead but don't look back / Anything's a possibility and you can count on that / Hold on tight and don't let go / It's another small adventure, where it is no one knows / Close your eyes and enjoy the ride / There's so many big surprises out there for us to find / Waking up the sun / Waking up the sky / Waking up the great big universe / Another small adventure / Look at me, I'm strong and free / Everything's a possibility / As long as you're with me
[The rest of the Little family is searching for Stuart via taxi]George: Mom, Dad, I'm really sorry.Frederick: You should be. For all we know, Stuart could be out there right now, lying face-down with his- [Mrs. Little gasps; changes tone] Or, he could be fine! I mean, we don't have to assume the worst. After all, it's not the Little way.Eleanor: Yes, you're right, I mean, he could be puttering home right now in his shiny little car...Frederick: ...Smiling and happy...Eleanor: ...His little whiskers fluttering in the breeze.George: [sees the wreckage of Stuart's roadster] Mom?Eleanor: Yes, George?George: I don't think he's puttering home.
[The Littles get out of the taxi to investigate]Eleanor: [shocked] Who would do this?!Frederick: Tiny little vandals.Snowbell: That miserable falcon! From this day forward, I vow revenge. If that falcon were here right now, I'd rip his throat out. I'd scratch his face off. I'd...Margalo: Snowbell, that's him!Snowbell: [terrified] Please, don't hurt me! Kill the bird, not me! I'M GONNA BE FALCON POOP!Falcon: Well, well, well. The canary is out of her cage. And how nice. She's brought a friend for dinner. Too bad I don't like... canned food.Margalo: Snowbell, get out!Snowbell: Can't. Stuck. Too fat!
[Snowbell is in a paint can, and Falcon is about to roll him off the building]Margalo: Don't do it, Falcon, or else!Snowbell: Do what?! What's he doing?!Falcon: Or else what?Margalo: Or else, you'll lose...this. [holds up Mrs. Little's ring]Falcon: [enraged] Put that down, Margalo!Margalo: I'm through doing what you tell me to do. I'm leaving you, Falcon, forever!Falcon: Oh, and what do you think you'll be without me?!Margalo: Free. [flies off]Falcon: Big mistake! I'll be back for you, furball. [flies after Margalo]Snowbell: Don't hurry!Margalo: Stuart?! You're alive!Stuart: So far!Margalo: Where did you get the plane?Stuart: A garbage dump.Margalo: Sorry I asked.Mrs. Little: Frederick, I hope we're not too late.Mr. Little: Keep your eyes peeled. He could be anywhere.Snowbell: Careful now. One step at a time. That's it. You're gonna make it. Yeah! I'm alive. I'm alive! Stuart! Is that you? Take me with you! Oh, what about me? How will I get down from here?Frederick: I think this is it. Turn here.Taxi Driver: Okey-dokey, no problem.George: Hey, look! It's Stuart.Eleanor: Stop the car! Stuart!George: Look at that bird. He's bigger than me!Frederick: We gotta save him. Come on.Snowbell: It's the Littles. I'm saved! Wait! It's me!Frederick: Follow that flying mouse.Taxi Driver: Okey-dokey, no problem.Snowbell: Hey-Little, Ho-Little... Hoo-Little, Hey-Hottle, Ho-Wottle, Wo-Wittle.George: There he is!Stuart: If we get out of this, I'm sticking to painting and dancing.Taxi Driver: Hey, lady! Get out of the way!Margalo: He's closing in!Taxi Driver: Oh, my goodness.Frederick: Keep it running.Taxi Driver: Okey-dokey, no problem.Eleanor: Stuart!Frederick: He can't hear you.Stuart: I think we lost him!Falcon: Going up?Eleanor: Oh! Frederick, I feel so helpless.Falcon: A mouse needs to know his limitations!Margalo: Stuart! Pull up!Stuart: I can't! It's stuck!Margalo: Well, try harder!Stuart: Margalo, get out! Save yourself!Margalo: No, Stuart! If we go, we go together!Eleanor: Stuart!Frederick: Stuart! Pull up!Eleanor: Pull up, Stuart!Frederick: Stuart, pull up!Falcon: You should've stayed in your little hole, Mouse-boy.Margalo: Stuart, we can't outrun him.Stuart: Then we'll just have to face him.Margalo: It's too dangerous. I won't let you do it.Stuart: But I have to try! I'll be back for you later.Margalo: What do you mean? Stuart, don't do it!Falcon: Party's over, Fur-face.Eleanor: Frederick, what's he doing?George: They're gonna crash!Frederick: Stuart, turn! Run away!
[Stuart pulls out the ring and shined it into Falcon's eyes, for dropping him and holding Margalo captive. He leaps off the plane, using a handkerchief as a parachute.]Stuart: Bye-bye, Birdbrain!
[The airplane strikes the falcon, tearing his feathers off.]Stuart: Oh, dear. [screams]Margalo: Got you.Stuart: Whoo-hoo-hoo!Monty: [looking in a trash can] Can't I get a decent meal in this city?! [Falcon falls out of the sky, screaming. Monty looks him and he falls in the trash can. Monty eagerly looks at the now-dead Falcon, and then looks up at the sky happily] Thank you!
[The Littles find Stuart and Margalo after landing]Frederick: Stuart!Eleanor: Stuart!Frederick: Stuart, are you okay?Stuart: I am now; Margalo saved me.Margalo: We saved each other.Frederick: What...What did you think you were doing?Eleanor: [picks Stuart up] You almost gave me a heart attack.Stuart: I'm sorry, mom.Eleanor: You ran away from home...Stuart: I know.Eleanor: ...And you had George lie to us!Stuart: Yeah.Eleanor: Then, why am I so proud of you?Margalo: [holds out Eleanor's ring] Mrs. Little, this belongs to you.Eleanor: [takes the ring back] My ring!Margalo: Yeah, I took it.Stuart: And now, she's giving it back.Eleanor: [picks up Stuart and Margalo] I'm just happy to have all of you back.
[A moment later, Snowbell appears through the crowd]Stuart: Snowbell! You made it.Margalo: Thank goodness you're all right!George: Snowbell! Where have you been? You wouldn't believe what Stuart and Margalo have been through!Frederick: Snowbell...you should have seen it. [taking Stuart and Margalo in his hands] These two were so brave. Let's go home.
[The family heads away]Snowbell: [watching the family go, aghast] And how about me? I played no part in this?! [angrily] Well, I have had enough! I'm staying right here, folks! Oh, yeah! You'll never see me again! Eleanor: [after Stuart whispers something to her] Snow? Want some tuna when we get home? Snowbell: [delighted] Tuna? I love these people! [runs after them] Wait! Wait for me!Stuart: I-I guess they're flying south for the winter, huh?Margalo: I guess.Stuart: You've always... dreamed of going, haven't ya? But Falcon never let you.Margalo: Every year I'd just watch all the other birds go. The ones who were free.Stuart: You're free.Margalo: Stuart, we'd be so far apart.Stuart: It wouldn't change a thing.Margalo: Well....Frederick: You're sure you know where you are going? Cause we can call AAA.Eleanor: We can get you maps, discount coupons.Frederick: There's a place in South Carolina where they do the best pecan pie you would ever taste.Margalo: I'm a bird. Instinct should take over.Eleanor: I guess you've been waiting for this a long time.Margalo: All my life. Only...Eleanor: Only what, dear?Margalo: Well, now it's not just talk. Now it's the real thing.George: Are you scared?Margalo: The world's pretty big, and I'm pretty small.Stuart: Somebody once told me, "You're as big as you feel." Just spread your wings... and soar.Margalo: I'll miss you, Stuart.Stuart: I'll miss you, too.Margalo: I'll miss all of you. You too, Snowbell.Snowbell: I'm not gonna cry.Margalo: Little hi, Little low!Littles: Little hey, Little ho!
[And with that, Margalo flies off and disappears into the sky.]
[Last lines]Frederick: Stuart?Stuart: Yeah, Dad?Frederick: What's the silver lining this time?Stuart: She'll be back in the spring.
[They watch Margalo flying away]Martha: [waving; first words] Bye-bye, birdie.
[Her family is surprised to hear her speak]Eleanor: [surprised] Did you hear that?Frederick: [surprised] I don't believe it! Her first words! She spoke!Eleanor: [happily] Of course, she did!George: [happily] I knew she could do it.Snowball: [breaking the fourth wall; snarky] Big deal. When she can fall out of a tree and land on her feet, then I'll be impressed.
CELINE DION lyrics (I'm Alive)Celine Dion: Mmm-mmm / Mmm-mmm / I get wings to fly / Oh, oh / I'm alive / When you call on me / When I hear you breathe / I get wings to fly / I feel that I'm alive / When you look at me / I can touch the sky / I know that I'm alive / Oh / Oh, I / When you bless the day / I just drift away / All my worries die / I'm glad that I'm alive / I couldn't get much higher / My spirit takes flight / (My spirit takes flight) / Cause I am alive / (I am alive,) / oh / (When you call on me) / When you call on me / (When I hear you breathe) / When I hear you breathe / I get wings to fly / I feel that I'm alive / I am alive / (When you reach for me) / When you reach for me / (Raising spirits high) / God knows that / That I'll be the one / Standing by through good and through trying times / And it's only begun / I can't wait for the rest of my life / (When you call on me) / When you call on me / (When you reach for me) / When you reach for me / (I get wings to fly, I) / I feel that... / Oh / (When you bless the day) / When you bless, you bless the day / (I just drift away) / I just drift away / All my worries die / I know that I'm alive, yeah / I get wings to fly / God knows that I'm alive
SHAWN COLVIN lyrics (Hold on to the Good Things)Shawn Colvin''': It's a beautiful world / It's a beautiful day / An unusual time / Is coming our way / We're on an adventure / Hip-hip, hooray / Up in a balloon / I'm sailing with you / On top of the world / We got nothing to do / There's a silvery lining / And the sun is shining / Hold on to the good things, darling / Hold on to the silver lining / Hold on to the beautiful melodies / And leave those worries behind us / A little of this, a little of that / The recipe calls, for a pat in the back / With you and me anything's possible / Friends are here to remind us / It's all about friends / It's all about love / And having someone / That you know you can trust / We're in this together / It's all about us / I'm feeling so good / I'm feeling no pain / I'm washing my troubles / Right down the drain / Life is unfolding / Gotta keep on going / Hold on to the good things, darling / Hold on to the silver lining / Hold on to the beautiful melodies / And leave those worries behind us / Hold on to the good things / A little bit high, a little bit low / A little bit hey, ho-ho-ho / A little bit high, a little bit low / A little bit hey, off we go / Hold on to the good things, darling / Hold on to the silver lining / Hold on to the beautiful melodies / And leave those worries behind us / You can look to the east / You can look to the west / You can look to someone / Who loves you the best / So good to be part of the family / Friends are here to remind us / Hold on to the good things / Hold on to the good things
