Quotes
If a spark of God's love has already been kindled in you, do not boast about it. Do not expose it to the wind. Close the door of your heart so that it does not grow cold.
Ognjišče, year LV, issue 642, November 2019, page 58.
Remember that at home and everywhere else, you should accept other people's shortcomings in the same way that you want others to accept you.
Magnificat, vol. 9, no. 11, November 2022, p. 84.
(About the Milan plague) It was, my children [...] God's great mercy. He wounded and healed; he scourged and consoled; he laid his hand on the rod of discipline and also offered us the stick of support and sustenance.
È stata, figliuoli [...] la gran misericordia di Dio. Egli ha ferito e ha sanato: egli ha flagellato e ha consolato: egli ha posta la mano alla verga della disciplina e ci ha sporto anche il bastone dell'appoggio e sostegno.

Quotes about
Many privileged men supported the purple and pastoral care with wisdom, became venerated for the sanctity of life, reformed and improved the customs of the people; many were proclaimed benefactors of the human race either because they helped their fellow men with their work and with institutions in private and public calamities, or because they propagated the education of divine and human disciplines; many extended their possessions to the splendor and usefulness of the homeland, they consecrated themselves, their studies to the advantage of their brothers; few and perhaps none united all these eminent qualities, like St. Charles Borromeo.
Giuseppe Rovani, Storia delle lettere e delle arti in Italia, Borroni e Scotti, Milano 1856, p. 95.
(Compared to those of Napoleon) Trophies of many other victories are erected in Milan to the glory of our great reformer: here the monuments of a living piety, of a charity that took from himself not only a new ardour, but also the first impulse of a broad, multifaceted and always beneficial patronage, of a moral and religious rebirth, so powerful, are still flourishing so that even today it is named by him, and by ranging around his tomb, the eye of the faithful is recreated and built, laying gradually on an interminable series of paintings, which reproduce not scenes of violence and blood, but the most salient episodes of that holiness and that beneficence, of which his entire life was woven. Glorious epic of goodness, which enlarges the heart and evokes in the mind of the pious pilgrim, who devoutly prays at his tomb «the providential man, the hero of charity», how his people greeted him, having passed away benefiting, like a beneficent star that then sets peacefully, amidst the regret and blessings of all.
