Song lyrics
Souvenirs (1974)
Love when you canCry when you have to...Be who you mustThat's a part of the planAwait your arrivalWith simple survivalAnd one day we'll all understand...Your conscience awakes and you see your mistakesAnd you wish someone would buy your confessionThe days miss their mark and the night gets so dark
Part of the Plan
Dusty day dawningThree hours lateOpen the curtainsAnd let the rest waitMy mind goes runningThree thousand miles eastI may miss the harvestBut I won't miss the feast...And it looks like you're gonnaHave to see me again...Cause I've got a womanWho waits for me thereAnd I need a breath of that Sweet country air
Illinois
Changing horses in the middle of a streamGets you wet and sometimes cold
Changing Horses
I can see you in the distanceAnd you're heading for a fallSinking deeper by the minute You're about to lose it all...You better changeBefore the sun goes downYou better leaveBefore you are the last in townYou better raiseYour fortresses or tear them down... Tear them down!
Better Change
As the Raven Flies LyricsI see the raven's madeHer nest in your eyesShe's got you thinking thatHer love is a prizeAnd you'll go under fromThe weight of her lies
As the raven flies
Now the wind is stillIn a moment it will be ragingNow my soul is youngIn a moment it will be agingAnd high above the pinesI wrote several linesAnd left them in a bottleFor you to find
Song from Half Mountain
Someone's been telling you storiesSomeone's been telling you storiesAnd they just ain't trueNo, they just ain't trueThey just ain't trueSomeone's been telling you stories]].
Song from Half Mountain
There's a place in the worldFor a gamblerThere's a burden that only he can bear... And he sees. Oh, yes he sees...There's a light in the depthsOf your darknessThere's a calm at the eye Of every stormThere's a light in the depthsOf your [[blindness|darkness}}Let it shineOh, let it shine
There’s a Place in the World for a Gambler
Phoenix (1979)
Gonna pull in the shutters on this heart of mineRoll up the carpets and pull in the blindsAnd retreat to the chambers that I left behindIn hopes there still may be love left to findStill may be love left to find.
Heart Hotels.
Longer than there've been fishes in the oceanHigher than any bird ever flew.Longer than there've been stars up in the heavens,I've been in love with you.
Longer.
Along the road your steps may stumbleYour thoughts may start to strayBut through it all a heart held humbleLevels and lights your way.
Along the Road.
The Innocent Age (1981)
And it's run for the rosesAs fast as you canYour fate is deliveredYour moment's at handIt's the chance of a lifetimeIn a lifetime of chanceAnd it's high time you joinedIn the danceIt's high time you joinedIn the dance.
Run for the Roses.
An only child alone and wildA cabinet maker's son.His hands were meant for different workAnd his heart was known to none --He left his home and went his lone and solitary wayAnd he gave to me a gift I knowI never can repay.
Leader of the Band.
The leader of the band is tiredAnd his eyes are growing oldBut his blood runs through my instrumentAnd his song is in my soul --My life has been a poor attemptTo imitate the man.I'm just a living legacyTo the leader of the band.
The Leader of the Band.
We drank a toast to innocenceWe drank a toast to now.And tried to reach beyond the emptinessBut neither one knew how.
Same Old Lang Syne.
The beer was empty and our tongues were tiredAnd running out of things to say.She gave a kiss to me as I got outAnd I watched her drive away.Just for a moment I was back at schoolAnd felt that old familiar painAnd as I turned to make my way back homeThe snow turned into rain.
Same Old Lang Syne.
Windows and Walls (1984)
She says noWhen she means yesAnd what she wantsYou know that I can't guess. When we want moreYou know we ask for lessSuch is the language of love...
The Language of Love.
Too many hearts have been brokenFailing to trust what they feel. But trust isn't something that's spokenAnd love's never wrong when it's real.
Believe in Me.
Portrait - The Music of Dan Fogelberg (1997)
Looking back now toward the startYou said you thought I'd lost my pathAnd I asked if you still considered love an artAnd you said "No, I think it's more a craft"And I just turned and laughedI just had to turn and laugh.
Hearts and Crafts.
Full Circle (2003)
Venturing further than the length of your sightOut past the reach of your beginningsThere is a gamble in each proud act of flightBut the losses pale before the winningsCircling and diving with this freedom you’ve foundIllusion blows apart and scattersThere is no darkness in this place that we're boundLove is the only thing that matters
