Dorothy Okello

Dorothy Okello is a Ugandan electrical engineer, and professor known for founding the Women of Uganda Network or WOUGNET. In 2016, she became the first female president of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers Quotes Our parents always emphasised that the greatest gift they could give was education and I am blessed to have fulfilled their dream The young Dorothy was passionate about mathematics and solving problems which is what engineering is about. The use of ICT and similar technologies can produce a clash with traditional ways of doing things - but one that can be managed. For example, e-learning can be used to enable more study hours for the female child even while at home but does not address the stereotype that girls do not need to be educated - where such is the belief.
