I Know What You Did Last Summer is a 2025 slasher film and direct sequel to the 1998 film I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Twenty-eight years after the Tower Bay murders, another hook-wielding killer appears and begins targeting a group of friends one year after they covered up a car accident in which they supposedly killed someone. Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Written by Sam Lansky and Robinson, based on characters originally created in a popular novel by Lois Duncan. You get the ending you deserve. taglines Julie James I have one question for you: Do you know what you did last summer? You can't run, you can't hide. Get them before they get you. Whoever is doing this, it's personal to them. We are not going to die. What are you waiting for? Ray Bronson You need to handle this. This isn't the first time there's been violence like this in Southport. It's not going to stop. It isn't something I like to talk about. Danica Richards I need to start drinking. Dialogue [Ray has come to visit Julie at her house] Ray Bronson: That's a warm welcome. Julie James: I thought someone was coming to murder me. This is worse. Ray Bronson: Well, believe it or not, I was worried about you. May I come in? [Walks in] I know we're not exactly friends. With everything that's been going on, it just felt sort of wrong not to come in and check on you. Julie James: What is this really about, Ray? 'Cause I'm not buying the whole "I'm worried about you" nice guy act. Ray Bronson: [sighs] Fuck it. Look, what the hell were you thinking giving advice like that to Ava? Julie James: And there it is. Ray Bronson: What...you told her she should track down the killer, and then what? Kill him? Have you lost your fucking mind? Julie James: She asked for my help, and I told her what I thought she should do. Ray Bronson: Oh, right. Yeah, just give her advice from the comfort of your own home, then send her back to Southport on a suicide mission. Julie James: Unlike you, I haven't completely repressed everything that happened to us. Ray Bronson: Hey, I deal with that every day, just like you. But to project that shit onto them, it isn't right. [Sighs] Look, one of her friends that's involved works at my bar. She's a good kid. Julie James: She clearly did something bad. Ray Bronson: You know more than anyone, that sometimes, you can just get mixed up with the wrong people. Julie James: Yeah. I do know that. [Both of their phones start ringing, and the two of them respectively answer them] Ava? Ray Bronson: What's up, Stevie? [Ray has been discovered to be the new Fisherman killer, and while trying to kill Ava at a bar, Julie rushes in, where Ray confronts her, holding a hook] Ray Bronson: Happy 4th of July, Julie. [walks past Ava] Thought you were never coming back to Southport. So, how'd you figure it out? Julie James: That kid Stevie asked for your help, didn't she? Ray Bronson: They fucked her whole life up, those friends of hers. She wanted revenge, and I knew how to help her get that. Nothing holds people accountable like a good old-fashioned murder spree. Julie James: So you used what happened to us as a playbook? Ray Bronson: They tried to erase everything about this place. They tried to erase us! They walk around here pretending that what happened to us never even happened! I had to make people remember. So here we are. It's 1997 all over again. Isn't that nostalgic? Julie James: Nostalgia's overrated. Who cares if they tried to erase us, Ray? You have to let it go. Ray Bronson: [refusing to listen] You know what? I think I'll say it was you who killed everyone. See, at first, I thought it was a problem, you getting involved. But now, I realize you're the perfect fall girl. Crazy-ass Julie James, who couldn't quite move on, recreates her past, only this time, she's in control. [Julie, who has stood her ground during the confrontation, slowly walks towards Ray] Julie James: [tauntingly] What are you waiting for? Hm? Ray Bronson: This is gonna hurt, sweetheart. Julie James: [shouting] What are you waiting for?! [Ray prepares to kill Julie with the hook, but it's too late; Ray himself ends up getting shot in the chest with a speargun; a stunned and wounded Ray looks behind to see that Ava is the one who shot him] Ava Brucks: Gotcha. [Ray collapses to the ground, dead] Taglines You get the ending you deserve. Karma is a killer. Your experience won't save you. (Julie James) Your history won't save you.
