Quotes
. . . during the course of a kiss some 800,000 individual microbes can emigrate from one dear friend to another an exchange which one would be hard put to it to categorise as a welcome aspect of affection. One of those curious nuts who invariably appear at moments of national emergency to fulfill their peculiar destinies, did indeed produce what he promoted as a prophylactic Kissing Veil—designed to prevent the transmission of these germ hordes—some years ago. It seems to have achieved no great commercial success, being at the time dismissed by one happy philosopher as tantamount to "eating a toffee with the paper still on it."
