Charlie Fraser Downes (born June 2001) is an English political activist, writer and broadcaster. He has served as the Campaigns Director and Spokesman for Restore Britain, the political party led by MP Rupert Lowe, since it was established as a pressure group in 2025. He is also a contributor to the The European Conservative and the Daily Mail. Quotes Christianity is inextricable from Britain’s history and our national identity. In my view, a civilization is a series of covenants. First is marriage – the permanent union of one man and one woman before God. Marriage is the foundation of the household, which is a married couple with children and property. The household in turn should be considered the fundamental economic unity of society (as opposed to the individual, as liberals argue, or class, as socialists argue). Quoted in "EXCLUSIVE: Restore Britain party spokesman says mass immigration is ‘anti-Christian’", LifeSiteNews (Feb 23, 2026). You’re certainly less British if you’re not a believer in Christian principles. If somebody was Islamic then they are certainly less British. Quoted in "Being Muslim makes you less British, claims Restore co-founder", Telegraph (08 August 2026). Quotes about Downes There are anti-Semitic and extreme racists at or near the top of the party, and they would have to go first. We’re happy to talk but we can’t do when there are people in the party like Charlie Downes. Reform spokesman quoted in "Reform: No talks until Restore expels co-founder accused of anti-Semitism", Telegraph (09 August 2026).
