He was most known as a television personality in Portugal, having been the author and presenter of several documentary series of historical divulgation in the last decades. Quotes Quem mal-preza o seu passado, mal-prepara o seu futuro. He who doesn't prize his past, ill-prepares his future. "A Alma e a Gente - Os Lusitanos", 24 Jan 2010 Camões tinha razão. Um fraco rei faz fraca a forte gente. Camões was right. A weak king weakens a strong people. "A Alma e a Gente - D. Fernando, Fraco Rei, Forte Gente (D. Fernando, Weak King, Strong People)" Quem luta pela unidade para mim é grande. Quem se bate pela divisão para mim... (abana a cabeça reprovadoramente) He who fights for unity, for me is great. He who fights for division, for me... (shakes his head disapprovingly) "A Alma e a Gente - D. Maria II, A Rainha da Regeneração" Como sabem, as guerras fazem sempre enriquecer certas pessoas. As you know, wars always make certain people wealthier. A war has two functions: it serves for some to die and for other to become wealthy. Behind of a great queen is always a great king. That made the portuguese this type that we are. We don't have any race. There can be no talk about a portuguese race. If there was a race, we would be an anti-race. Composed of the people coming from all over during millions of years.
